UFC Fight Night 289 video: Christian Edwards buries Rodolfo Bellato
Christian Edwards put his faith in his cornermen, and it paid off with his first UFC win.
Edwards (9-6 MMA, 1-1 UFC) was in a back-and-forth fight at light heavyweight against Bellato (13-4-1 MMA, 2-2-1 UFC) heading into the third. But after that first 10 minutes, his corner team from Jackson-Wink MMA told him he needed to go forward in the third if he wanted the best path to a win.
And that he did. In the center of the cage, Edwards said in his post-fight interview he was going to say 'F*ck it' and go forward. He landed a vicious left hand that put Bellato on his back. A few punches later, referee Blake Grice shut things down at the 1:47 mark of the final frame.
