Jock Landale's career-year in the NBA has hit a hurdle at the wrong time.
The Australian Boomers big man has missed his second straight game for the Memphis Grizzlies with a sore right calf after he was also sidelined for the team's win over the Milwaukee Bucks on December 27 (US time).
It could not have come at a worse time for Landale, who has been the perfect reserve centre signing from the Houston Rockets in the offseason, with starter Zach Edey also out with injury.
Even though the Grizzlies have started Santi Aldama at centre in recent games with Edey out, Landale has played significant minutes off the bench, and been one of Memphis' most consistent players this season with averages of 11 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 rebounds per game.
