News: Lost Paradise Unveils 2026 Lineup Led By John Summit And Skepta

Lost Paradise has revealed its 2026 lineup, with the New Year’s institution returning to Glenworth Valley on Darkinjung Country from 28 December to 1 January. Now entering its twelfth year, the festival continues to lean into its electronic foundations while assembling a bill that balances global club heavyweights with some of Australia’s most respected DJs, producers and live acts.

Leading this year’s lineup is John Summit, whose rise from underground favourite to one of dance music’s biggest names continues with the release of his sophomore album CTRL ESCAPE. He’ll be joined by UK grime pioneer Skepta, who continues to blur the lines between rap, grime and house, alongside Dutch techno powerhouse KI/KI, Welsh electronic duo Overmono, house music veteran Armand Van Helden, modern jungle innovator Nia Archives, Scottish selector Ewan McVicar, Australia’s Sam Alfred, Rossi. and the ever-unpredictable Partiboi69.

Self-professed âdata nerdâ April Long was excited to fill in their first census after welcoming their son, Kai, to the world. But as they opened the 2021 survey, they quickly realised it wasnât made for them.

It excluded Longâs role as a parent, made assumptions about their gender and asked where Kaiâs mother and father were born â when he has two mums.

Many ârainbow familiesâ echoed similar experiences of the census being unable to fully capture the LGBTQ+ community.

2026 Census: Who must complete it and is it compulsory?

SBS acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country and their connections and continuous care for the skies, lands and waterways throughout Australia.

The Census is run by the Australian government every five years — but Peter Doukas, chair of the Federation of Ethnic Communities' Councils of Australia (FECCA), believes it's important to remember this questionnaire is strictly "apolitical".

Since 1911, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has conducted the Census of Population and Housing, regardless of the political party in power. Data collected is used to inform decisions around the funding and location of schools, transport and health care services.

Doukas told SBS News the Census also provides valuable information on the demographic makeup of multicultural communities.

Justin Baldoni Hit With 6-Figure Legal Bill After Court Loss

Justin Baldoni is facing a six-figure financial consequence from his dismissed lawsuit against The New York Times. A judge ordered the actor and director's production company, Wayfarer Studios, to reimburse the newspaper for legal fees tied to the failed defamation case.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Wayfarer Studios must pay The New York Times $171,616. The award follows the dismissal of Baldoni's $250 million defamation lawsuit against the newspaper over its reporting on Blake Lively's complaint and the conflict surrounding "It Ends With Us."

The order applies to Wayfarer Studios, not Baldoni personally. However, he co-founded the company and joined it in bringing the defamation claim. The Times later pursued reimbursement under New York's anti-SLAPP law, which allows defendants to recover costs in certain cases involving protected speech.

The transgender actress thanked the president for deriding her at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, calling it “the greatest compliment of all.”

Dylan Mulvaney, the transgender actress and advocate whom President Donald Trump repeatedly mocked during his speech Friday at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, called the insults “the greatest compliment of all” in a video posted Sunday.

“Maybe being publicly mocked and criticized by this administration is actually like the greatest compliment of all, because it puts me in the company of some of like the most brilliant, empathetic people in our world today,” Mulvaney said.

During his speech Friday, which had been rescheduled from April after a man shooting a gun tried to enter the ballroom, Trump raised Mulvaney’s 2023 Bud Light partnership that sparked outrage among conservatives. He compared her to CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins, whom he also insulted, in a roast-style joke that was met with silence from the crowd of reporters at the dinner.
