Chattogram's owner had quit the day before the BPL began, with the BCB taking over. Habibul Bashar was made team director, and Mizanur Rahman was named coach.

DHAKA, Jan 17, 2026 (BSS) – Tanzim Hasan Sakib's 4-17 was complemented by Mushfiqur Rahim's valiant 46 not out as Rajshahi Warriors eked out a three-wicket victory against Chattogram Royals in a low-scoring Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) game at Sher-e-Bangladesh National Cricket Stadium today.

The win confirmed Rajshahi's top spot in the points table with 16 points from 10 matches, while Chattogram Royals and Rangpur Riders were left battling for the second position and a place in Qualifier 1. Chattogram have 12 points while Rangpur have 10 from nine matches.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib's brilliance with the ball helped Rajshahi bundle Chattogram out for just 125 in 19.5 overs but they almost defended the total before Mushfiqur Rahim's valiant effort saw the team home with three balls to spare.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds began the Australian and New Zealand leg of their massive Wild God tour over the weekend, performing to devoted fans in Fremantle.

The group’s first Australian tour since 2017 comprises outdoor, open-air shows and a handful of indoor arena concerts. The fun began at Fremantle Park on Saturday (17 January), with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds performing a ripping 23-song set.

Eight songs were performed from the tour’s namesake album, Wild God, in addition to classics from across the band’s career. Players signed in the January transfer window will not be available to play in the Champions League until after the league phase of the competition.

Clubs can only register a maximum of three new players to their squad once the league phase is over by the deadline of Thursday, 5 February.

The same rules also apply in the Europa League and Conference League.

Competing Champions League teams still have two league phase games left before the knockout rounds begin in February.

It means Manchester City will be without Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi for Tuesday's trip to Bodo/Glimt and their final league phase match against Turkish side Galatasaray.
