It's January, and January in the world of women's professional road racing only means one thing: Tour Down Under. For riders who live in Europe or North America, it's a chance to escape the cold and cram in some quality training in the Adelaide hills, with a few days of racing to really get the engines firing. For the Australians, it's an opportunity to display what form they have on the world stage, although a little less so this year.

Sutton Stracke Reveals New Information About Her "Painful" Falling Out With Avi Gabay

A RHOBH bombshell brought Sutton Stracke's firing of her former assistant Avi Gabay back into the spotlight.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 15 airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo and streams next day on on Peacock.

As much as Sutton Stracke did not want to discuss what really happened between her and former longtime assistant Avi Gabay that led to his firing, newbie Amanda Frances forced her hand on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

During the cast trip to Sedona on Season 15, Episode 5, Amanda revealed to Kyle Richards that a good friend had randomly met Avi while out on the town, and he allegedly told her he was eager to "spill all the real dirt on Sutton." The friend also claimed that Avi wanted Amanda to hire him as her assistant to "really piss Sutton off."

RHOBH’s Jennifer Tilly Blames Co-Star for Garcelle Beauvais Leaving

Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills hasn’t given us much in the way of drama. That is, until Jennifer Tilly opened up and slammed her co-star. She blamed a Season 14 cast member for Garcelle Beauvais’ hasty exit.

During the Season 14 RHOBH reunion, Garcelle walked off the stage and off the show. She was attacked during the reunion, yet no one had her back. This led to Garcelle cutting ties with most of the cast. However, the end of one close friendship shocked fans. And Garcelle made it clear that this relationship was over.

During Season 15 Episode 5 of RHOBH, Sutton was being asked about severing ties with her former assistant, Avi Gabay. When her bestie, Jennifer, interjected to change the subject, Sutton said, “Please stop. Just stop.” Unfortunately, that wasn’t the first time that Sutton had turned on her bestie.

Source Reveals Alleged Reason Sutton Stracke’s Ex-Assistant Avi Gabay is Staying “Silent” on Their Mysterious Falling Out, Plus Jennifer Tilly Addresses Sutton's “Snapping” in RHOBH Preview

A source revealed the alleged reason why Sutton Stracke’s ex-assistant Avi Gabay is staying “silent” on their mysterious falling out. Meanwhile, Jennifer Tilly addressed Sutton’s “snapping” in a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills preview.

At the start of the new season, Sutton revealed that Avi no longer works for her. Interestingly, both of them have remained relatively quiet about it, leaving fans in the dark.

On January 9, fan account @thepinkpopbox shared a new report about Avi.

“I found out from a very reliable source that allegedly Avi has an NDA in regards to Sutton,” said the account on Instagram. “Unless she slips up, we will never know what really went down.”

'Predator-free' fence project praised for restoring Kangaroo Island's native wildlife

The fence was designed to keep feral animals such as cats out of the area. (Supplied: Australian Wildlife Conservancy)

Populations of endangered animals on Kangaroo Island have increased by 90 to 100 per cent in five years.

The success of the program has surprised ecologists, who feared the impacts of the 2019-20 bushfires.

A First Nations man says he wants to see more collaboration with conservationists to help restore the land.

Vulnerable species on Kangaroo Island are bouncing back thanks to a 380-hectare "predator-free" enclosure erected by the Australian Wildlife Conservancy.

It has been five years since the Western River Refuge was enclosed by a cat-proof fence.

Endangered Species Are Bouncing Back to 90% on Kangaroo Island Thanks to Predator-Proof Fence

On Australia’s Kangaroo Island, cat-proof fencing is protecting native species from predation following a devastating wildfire and allowing them to recover in numbers that are shocking biologists.

The third-largest island controlled by Australia, Kangaroo Island saw a large fire burn through much of its scrub habitat in 2020, and conservationists knew this would leave native animals extremely vulnerable to attack from feral cats.

As soon as a week after the fires receded, employees of the Australian Wildlife Conservancy got to work surveying the landscape to see how feasible it would be to build a fence around the burned areas.

Their work immediately saw them come into contact with the impact of the cats on the native Kangaroo Island dunnart, a mouse-sized marsupial with no natural defense against them.

Wave of algal bloom flare-ups in Yorke Peninsula and KI – News

SA’s leading algal bloom scientist gives his take as dramatic new footage emerges of the algal bloom impacting beaches on the Yorke Peninsula.

SARDI executive director Professor Mike Steer said the state government was actively monitoring increased algal bloom activity on the Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island regions but he remained “cautiously optimistic” about its lessening impact.

“It’s important that we maintain monitoring and surveillance through summer and into autumn to make sure that we’re on top of it,” Steer told InDaily on Wednesday.

“But the other thing we can say is that, if you compare the data now to where we were a few months ago, it has significantly reduced, which is some form of positive, but we just need to be careful in our interpretation.”

Bunnings shoppers 'running' to their nearest store over new $5.50 summer essential

Bunnings has plenty of merch available for shoppers, but the hardware store recently expanded the range of one of its most iconic items. With summer in full swing, the hot Aussie sun is blasting down upon us and many of us are grabbing our hats to keep our faces in the shade.

Well, Bunnings shoppers have gone wild over the relatively new colour of the store's branded cap that's only $5.50. Queenslander Claudia told Yahoo Lifestyle she couldn't believe her eyes when she popped into her local Bunnings recently.

"Bunnings is clearly appealing more to their new age market," she said. "First the Labubu dupes, now the hats.

Why shoppers are racing to Bunnings to snap up this $5 fashion 'must-have'

Australians are once again proving that a viral fashion moment doesn't have to come with a luxury price tag.

Nor does it have to come from a fashion retailer, it seems.

This week, shoppers have been flocking to Bunnings Warehouse Australia for a surprise style staple in the form of vintage-washed logo caps.

Originally designed as practical merch rather than a trend piece, the caps, priced at a 'bargain' $5.50, have exploded online after shoppers began sharing photos, try-ons and 'haul' posts, with many admitting they're now hunting down all four colours.

'We got our hands on three of the four Bunnings Warehouse Australia hats at only $5.50 – they are a BARGAIN,' one shopper wrote.

The Aussie ingredient in the latest supercharged Ford Mustang V8 track special – but there's a cruel catch

An Australian ingredient has helped create Ford's latest high-performance, supercharged V8 Mustang – but, for now at least, Australians will be denied the chance to buy one.

Ford has called upon Australian engineering to create its newest supercharged V8-powered Ford Mustang track special, the Dark Horse SC, revealed in the US overnight.

Yet, like the Mustang GTD and Shelby GT500 before it, Australian customers are to be skipped – for now, at least – in the rollout of the latest hero Ford, as it is not expected to be produced in right-hand drive for local showrooms.

The Dark Horse SC is the 5.2-litre supercharged V8 successor to the Shelby GT500 in the previous-generation Mustang range, and draws on the Dark Horse name that debuted on a less potent track-ready variant based on the regular 5.0-litre GT.

Ford has announced its new Mustang Dark Horse SC sports car over in North America.

This Mustang will replace the Shelby GT500 variant — as the top-spec track-ready edition of the car.

Little is known about the technical details of the new muscle car, other than it will be powered by a supercharged 5.2-litre V8 petrol engine.

This same engine is fitted to the hardcore Mustang GTD, which makes 608kW, but expect the Dark Horse SC to produce less than that but still more than the Shelby GT500's 567kW.

Chinese buyers dominate foreign-owned property, new data reveals

Chinese investors are the dominant group of the more than 40,000 Aussie properties on the Register of Foreign Ownership of Australian Assets for residential land.

A whopping 67 per cent of the more than 40,000 Australian residential properties registered as foreign owned are linked to buyers from China.

It comes as experts have revealed how international investors are changing their approach to minimise government surcharges.

The Australian Taxation Office’s Register of Foreign Ownership of Australian Assets residential list tracks homes bought from 2016 to 2024, most under the supervision of the Foreign Investment Review Board, that are still owned by international interests.

Chinese buyers snap up lion’s share of foreign-owned Aussie homes

Chinese buyers account for a whopping 67% of the more than 40,000 Australian residential properties registered as foreign owned, new Australian Taxation Office (ATO) data reveals.

The ATO’s Register of Foreign Ownership of Australian Assets tracks homes bought from 2016 to 2024, mostly under Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) supervision, that remain in offshore hands. Mainland Chinese investors are the dominant force among buyers from 135 countries, with 23,550 properties – or more than 27,000 when combined with Hong Kong, The Herald Sun reported.

The data lands amid some of the toughest foreign investment settings in years, with most foreign buyers facing a temporary nationwide ban on purchasing established homes from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2027 and surcharges commonly adding 7%–9% to non‑resident purchases, leaving many paying 15%–25% more upfront than locals.

Behind Nessa Barrett's cover of Dolly Parton 'Jolene' for Like A Version

Nessa Barrett has officially made her debut in the Like A Version studio, taking on a Dolly Parton classic that is truly cross-generational relatable – 'Jolene'.

"It's really just about jealousy and being insecure in a relationship," she said.

"And I feel like, internally, that's just what we feel when we're in those situations. And I can just relate to that. I can relate to the whole song, honestly."

The 23-year-old singer songwriter's cover was pulled together in a couple of days before she stepped into the studio. Jamming with her guitarist Daniel Geraghty, they worked through the 1972 classic, realising then and there that it was perfect for the Like A Version studio.

Nessa Barrett Revitalizes Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’ for Like A Version

Nessa Barrett has made her highly anticipated debut in the Like A Version studio with a captivating cover of Dolly Parton’s timeless classic, “Jolene.” This song, first released in 1972, resonates across generations, addressing themes of jealousy and insecurity in relationships.

The 23-year-old singer-songwriter expressed her deep connection to the song. She noted, “It’s really just about jealousy and being insecure in a relationship. And I feel like, internally, that’s just what we feel when we’re in those situations.” Her ability to relate to these emotions adds depth to her rendition.

Barrett’s cover came together in just a few days, thanks to her collaboration with guitarist Daniel Geraghty. The pair realized during their jam sessions that “Jolene” was the perfect fit for their studio performance. Barrett highlighted their excitement, stating, “Then we sang ‘Jolene’ and we were like ‘this is fun and cool’ and so we decided to do it.”

‘Ponies’ elevates a Cold War spy story with emotional depth and female friendship

This is read by an automated voice. Please report any issues or inconsistencies here.

Despite its equestrian-themed title, misfit-spies motif and occasional reference to “Moscow rules,” Peacock’s new espionage thriller “Ponies” has little in common with Apple TV+‘s “Slow Horses.” Set in Cold War Moscow, “Ponies” falls, intriguingly and occasionally uneasily, somewhere between FX’s “The Americans” and underappreciated female-empowerment comedy film “The Spy Who Dumped Me.”

Which is not surprising since it was created by Susanna Fogel and David Iserson, co-writers of “The Spy Who Dumped Me,” which the former directed and the latter executive produced.

Opening with an attempt to extract a CIA asset from the clutches of the KGB, the series centers around Moscow’s American Embassy circa 1977 (with a soundtrack and brief glimpses of a young George H.W. Bush and, later, Elton John, to prove it).

Beatrice and Twila do the things all best friends do. They split a bottle of wine and complain about their jobs. They swap recipe ideas and go shopping. They pose galaxy-brained hypotheticals to each other, like whether they’d fuck a guy they hated if it meant stopping a nuclear war. Except that’s not a hypothetical, and the guy is a KGB agent they encounter while investigating the deaths of their CIA-agent husbands in 1970s Moscow. Twila (Haley Lu Richardson) encourages Beatrice (Emilia Clarke) to wear new lingerie to seduce the KGB agent, assuring Beatrice he’ll like it because it’s “red, for communism!” This is not nuanced dialogue, and Ponies is not nuanced in its worldview, nor is it a coherent spy show. It is, however, a gratifying best-friends show.
