Appetite for Australia: Guns N’ Roses Confirm Massive 2026 Stadium Tour!

Dust off your bandanas and start practicing that iconic Axl Rose serpentine sway because the world’s most dangerous band is coming back to our shores. It has just been confirmed that rock legends Guns N’ Roses will be bringing their massive 2026 World Tour to Australia this November and December, and the itinerary is looking like a dream for local rock fans.

Fresh off a monumental 2025 run through Europe, Asia, and Latin America, the band is showing no signs of slowing down. This isn’t just a nostalgia trip, either. While we can all expect to scream along to Sweet Child O’ Mine until our voices give out, the band is touring with fresh material. Late 2025 saw the release of two new singles, “Nothin'” and “Atlas”, their first new music in years. “Atlas” brings that signature stadium-rock urgency we love, while “Nothin'” offers a more introspective, piano-heavy side to the group.

If you love your rock'n'roll served wild and dangerous, then you're in luck, because next summer Newcastle will be transformed into your Paradise City.

Iconic American rockers Guns N' Roses will play McDonald Jones Stadium on Tuesday, December 8.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, the Foo Fighters, selling out their November 12 McDonald Jones Stadium show last week.

The Newcastle concert is part of Guns N' Roses' seven-date Australian and New Zealand leg of their world tour, which kicks off with an already-announced performance at the grand final of the Supercars in Adelaide on November 29.

How will Australia manage energy resources amid war?

Amid uncertainty over length of the war in the Middle East, experts are concerned about the impact on the world's oil and gas supplies.

Australia is not immune to those shocks and AM speaks to the Federal Resources Minister about how to protect Australians' energy supplies.

Rachel Mealey: Well, the ongoing attacks on Iran and the ever-expanding retaliatory attacks have had a major impact on the world's seaborne crude oil supply, sending energy prices soaring. For motorists in Australia, this means the price of fuel will keep climbing at the pump. Madeleine King is the Resources Minister. She joined me earlier. Minister, Australia's oil and gas supplies are going to be hit hard by this war. Exactly how much do we have in reserve?

The price of petrol in Canberra has jumped by nearly eight cents a litre in the past week, with some stations hitting the $2 mark following recent military strikes in the Middle East.

On February 26, before the Israeli-US attack on Iran, the average price for a litre of unleaded was $1.81, according to the NRMA. By March 5, the motoring organisation reported the average had climbed to $1.88.

Australian petrol retailers accused of price gouging over rising fuel costs amid Iran war

Motoring groups accuse retailers of using conflict as an excuse to lift prices as Jim Chalmers asks ACCC to keep watch

Sydney motorists are paying up to 25 cents more for a litre of petrol now than they were before the start of the US-Israel war on Iran, as motoring groups accuse retailers of using the conflict as an excuse to gouge their customers.

After Jim Chalmers instructed the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to keep an eye out for profiteering behaviour, a spokesperson for the watchdog said it had “observed average retail regular unleaded petrol prices in several cities moving higher over the last few days”.

Formula 1 is back for 2026, and the cars are all sporting new looks.

But it won't be just a fresh coat of paint on show at the Melbourne Grand Prix.

Former Renault engineer Chris Papadopoulos says this year features one of the biggest regulation changes since the sport's inception.

"Tyres, aerodynamics, vehicle dimension and engine rules … so basically, just about everything on the car is changing," he says.

The cars will be louder, slower on the corners and harder to handle, but more sustainable for the planet than previous designs.

Beyond the glass ceiling: Behavioural intelligence is the power skill for women in tech

As the technology sector celebrates International Women's Day, we rightly applaud the progress made in representation and opportunity. Yet, for many women in leadership, navigating the industry's high-pressure environments reveals a persistent and exhausting challenge: the behavioural tightrope.

Women in tech are often caught in a classic double bind. They are encouraged to be assertive, but penalised for being perceived as aggressive. They are expected to be collaborative and empathetic, but then find their authority questioned. This creates a constant, draining tension between intention and impact. A female project lead may intend to drive her team to meet a critical deadline, but her directness is misread as being abrasive. A female CTO may intend to foster a culture of open debate but finds she must carefully moderate her tone in a way her male counterparts do not.

Give to Gain: building inclusive leadership in tech

International Women's Day is often a time for recognition. We celebrate achievements, acknowledge progress, and highlight the women shaping industries, organisations and communities. In technology, that visibility matters. It helps challenge outdated assumptions about who belongs in the sector and who gets to lead its future.

But this year's theme, "Give to Gain," calls for something more practical than celebration alone.

It asks us to consider what progress actually requires – and what organisations, leaders and individuals must give if they want to gain stronger teams, better outcomes and a more sustainable future for the technology workforce.

In the technology sector, the answer is clear: if we want to gain innovation, resilience and high performance, we must be willing to give opportunity, trust, sponsorship, time and structural support.

Beyond the pipeline problem: Why transformation starts with culture, not quotas

The conversation around women in technology has matured over the past decade. We've moved slowly but meaningfully from debating whether the problem exists to debating how best to solve it. Yet, many organisations are still reaching for the wrong tools.

The instinct is understandable. When faced with a systemic challenge, the natural response is to build a system in return: a formal mentorship programme or  a diversity target. These efforts are rarely without value, but they tend to treat gender equity as a project with a completion date rather than a culture that requires constant, deliberate tending.

Real transformation does not announce itself in a press release. It happens in the quiet moments that never make it into an annual report.

UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall signs with Eddie Hearn: ‘Time to get what’s yours’

Tom Aspinall is still recovering from double eye surgery suffered in his most recent fight against Ciryl Gane

UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has new representation and it’s none other than Eddie Hearn.

The stunning news was announced on Thursday after Aspinall teased he was getting “back to business” as he boarded a flight. It turns out, he was traveling to Monaco to ink a deal with Hearn to serve as his agent, which seemingly escalates the ongoing war the Matchroom Boxing chairman has engaged with UFC CEO Dana White after he launched Zuffa Boxing.

“Welcome to the team UFC heavyweight champ Tom Aspinall,” Hearn wrote on Instagram. “Time to get what’s yours.”

UFC champion Tom Aspinall joins Matchroom in stunning move as Eddie Hearn hits back in Dana White row

UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has joined Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom and a new talent agency in a stunning move.

Just weeks after Hearn lost star fighter Conor Benn to UFC chief Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing, Matchroom has struck back by signing the Briton in a new venture for the organisation.

A return date for Aspinall has not been set, with no clarification yet over whether he will continue to only fight in MMA or cross over to boxing.

But he will now be represented by Hearn's new outfit in a significant blow to White and his public feud with the British promoter set to be involved in his commercial interests while operating in an advisory role.

A vibration in Aston Martin's Formula 1 car is so bad, according to its drivers, they risk injuring themselves if driving for too long.

Aston Martin team principal Adrian Newey has all but confirmed the team cannot finish the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday.

ABC Sport will have live blog coverage of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix on Sunday, March 8.

Aston Martin will almost certainly not finish this weekend's Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, if it even starts at all, over fears the vibration of the car could permanently injure its drivers.

‘Permanent nerve damage’: Shock claim as F1 car ‘too dangerous’ to actually finish Aus GP

Aston Martin will not complete the Australian Grand Prix because of the risk of permanent nerve damage to its drivers from extreme vibrations in the car.

Aston Martin is in the first season of a works relationship with Honda to coincide with the sweeping regulation changes for both chassis and power unit.

But pre-season testing showed up the project as badly undercooked, with Honda’s engine too unreliable to complete more than a few laps at a time.

Aston Martin chief Adrian Newey says Honda engine vibration issue could cause team's cars to retire from Australian GP

Aston Martin duo Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll are unsure as to whether they are going to be able to complete the first race of the season in Australia; watch Friday's practice sessions for the Australian Grand Prix at 1.30am and 5am, live on Sky Sports F1

Aston Martin chief Adrian Newey has suggested it's unlikely that either of the team's cars will be able to finish Sunday's season-opening Australian Grand Prix due to concerns that vibrations could cause serious damage to their drivers.

It had become clear during last month's two pre-season testing events in Bahrain that the team were experiencing major issues with their Honda power unit, the first supplied to them in a new partnership for 2026 with the Japanese manufacturer.

Giving to Gain : South Asian women in NFPs for IWD

This International Women’s Day, Sarita Chand, Yasmin Khan and Shantha Viswanathan share how they ‘give to gain’ as leaders of Not For Profits.

International Women’s Day invites us to reflect on the strength of women, the power of community, and the quiet ways women lift one another up. With this year’s theme, Give to Gain, we speak with trailblazing South Asian women in the not-for-profit sector about what it means to give – and how that giving returns in unexpected ways.

Yasmin Khan is founder and chair of the Bangle Foundation, a domestic abuse support service for South Asian women which has been running for over 10 years and helped thousands of women in our community escape family violence.

The Power to Give, the Strength to Gain! Mani Kohli: A symbol of excellence, perseverance & generosity

Erum MasoodOn March 8 each year, the world comes together to celebrate the incredible women who inspire, uplift and transform lives across communities and continents. International Women’s Day not only highlights women’s achievements but also acknowledges their struggles and the lasting impact of their resilience, leadership and compassion on future generations.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of supporting and working alongside women in Pakistan, Morocco and the United Kingdom—women who are celebrated not merely for their backgrounds, but for their strength, vision and determination. On this special day, I wish to pay tribute to a truly remarkable South Asian woman, Mani Kohli MBE, whose journey reflects excellence, perseverance and generosity of spirit.
With deep roots in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, Mani Kohli’s story is a powerful reminder of our shared heritage and the importance of women uplifting one another, regardless of geography. As a respected figure in the fashion industry, she has styled prominent personalities across the UK, Asia and the United States. Yet beyond glamour and success, what truly defines her work is her belief that beauty begins within. She empowers women to embrace confidence, authenticity and self-worth—qualities that no fabric or trend alone can create.
Her contributions extend far beyond fashion. Passionate about philanthropy and community development, she actively raises funds for charitable causes and mentors aspiring women entrepreneurs and small business owners. Through her work, she encourages others to give with sincerity and enthusiasm, reinforcing the idea that true success is measured by the lives we uplift along the way.
Meeting her through the British Asian Fashion Network was a transformative moment in my own journey. She has since become not only a mentor in fashion but a role model in leadership and humility. I was honoured to celebrate her MBE recognition alongside her children and inspiring women from around the world—each representing strength, talent and compassion in their own unique ways.
The People’s Incubation New Enterprise (PINE) Global Community recognizes women such as Ghinaa Khan, Sana Kardar, Rabia Amir, Musarrat Jabeen, Misha Irshad, Maham Masood, Fakiha Fatima, Vinessa Phoebe and Ramsha Khokar, who consistently support and empower one another. Their collective spirit reflects the true essence of International Women’s Day—unity, encouragement and shared growth.
As we celebrate Mani Kohli MBE and countless other extraordinary women, let us honour them not only for their professional accomplishments but for the roles they cherish as mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. Their strength lies not only in what they achieve, but in how they nurture, inspire and give of themselves.
Women’s giving is not about gaining recognition; it is about sharing time, compassion and purpose to create a kinder and brighter world.

Britney Spears was arrested Wednesday night, according to information from Ventura County, California authorities.

Booking information obtained by CNN shows that the pop superstar was stopped by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) around 9:30 p.m., was booked shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday and later released.

CHP public information officer Ryan Ayers confirmed to CNN via phone on Thursday that Spears was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,” a representative for Spears told CNN in an email. “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
