Fans outraged after Aussie company locks them out of concert: 'We are sorry'

Frustrated Australians are demanding answers after scores of would-be concertgoers were shut out of a major ticket sale. Across the country, customers say they were hit with a "restricted access" message before they could even check out — despite insisting they had done nothing wrong.

Last week, Australians flocked to Ticketek after European stars Robyn and Zara Larsson each announced shows to be held later in the year. But many missed out.

A spokesperson for Ticketek told Yahoo that, for the latter in particular, the platform experienced "exceptionally strong demand".

While technical hiccups during high-demand ticket sales aren’t unusual in Australia — and both Ticketek and Ticketmaster have faced criticism over similar issues in the past — many customers were furious after queueing for up to an hour, only to be locked out just as they reached the point of purchase.

    Morgan Evans – Jun 2026

Beloved Aussie-born, Nashville-based hit-maker, Morgan Evans, returns this June to New Zealand.

“The Steel Town Tour will be the biggest tour I’ve ever done”, said Morgan. “The biggest show, the biggest band and a record that was created to be shared live! I can’t fucking wait!”

On the back of their stunning duet ‘Two Broken Hearts’, Morgan Evans will be joined by special guest Laci Kaye Booth (USA) on all dates.

A world-class live entertainer, Morgan Evans has been praised for his “unparalleled energy and captivating melodies” (Scenestr). Rising from solo star to international headliner.

Evans achieved his first US chart-topper and Australian 3x Platinum No.1 with 2017’s magnetic ‘Kiss Somebody’, following up with the 4x Platinum romantic buzz of ‘Day Drunk’ from his debut album Things That We Drink To, which earnt him a spot on Billboard’s Country Artists To Watch list in 2018. Catapulting to international acclaim, Morgan now has over 1 billion career streams, a testament to the universal connection he’s built with fans.

Morgan Evans Releases Title Track for Upcoming Sophomore Album ‘Steel Town’

MELBOURNE – February 13, 2026 –  Solrise Records / Virgin Music Group’s Australian-born, Nashville-based country star  has dropped the title track of his upcoming sophomore album Steel Town today – listen HERE.

Written by Evans with Ava Suppelsa and Sam Ellis, “Steel Town” is an ode to Morgan’s hometown of Newcastle. The autobiographical jaunt and album opener includes an interlude of a vintage commercial advertising what Newcastle has to offer, interspersed amid Evans’ lyrics about his upbringing.

Morgan explains the sentiment behind the song, saying, “Steel Town is about where I come from and why I am the way I am. Newy was a beautiful place to grow up, but also a tough one, and we poured all of that into this record.” The title track joins latest release “Two Broken Hearts” feat. Laci Kaye Booth, “a raw, emotional ballad about healing, hope, and the slow journey back to love” (Country Now), and “Beer Back Home,” Evans’ first single of this new era.

Livigno: The biggest challenge Indra Brown had to face when she made her World Cup debut in December wasn’t the 22-foot halfpipe she had to negotiate, nor the field of elite talent she had to battle against.

By finishing third at the Secret Garden Resort in China in her first start, becoming the youngest Australian snow sport medallist, Brown was handed a bottle of bubbly to celebrate, as is customary. The problem was she was 15 years old, and had no idea how to open it.

'Champagne moment, adorable': Free skiing's $30m megastar lifts lid on her kind podium gesture for Aussie prodigy Indra Brown

The 22-year-old American-born Chinese two-time Olympic gold medallist often talks about having "the weight of two countries on my back" but she has a constantly sunny disposition.

She is still very young, yet speaks eloquently about being dragged into geopolitical conflict due to her decision as a teenager to compete for China despite having a deep appreciation for all the things growing up in the US gave her.

Gu is already one of the greatest free skiers of all-time and is fiercely competitive, yet she puts her biggest disappointments behind her with grace and humility then speaks to the hungry media for hours after competitions.

Host says lawyers barred him from discussing decision to drop Texas Democrat segment amid FCC rules scrutiny

The talkshow host Stephen Colbert has accused the Trump administration of censoring critics after CBS pulled his interview with a Texas Democrat on Monday, apparently at the behest of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Colbert told viewers of the Late Show that network lawyers told him he was also prohibited from talking about their refusal to air his interview with James Talarico, a Texas state representative seeking his party’s nomination to challenge the Republican incumbent, John Cornyn, for a Senate seat in November.

LIVIGNO, Italy — Canadian snowboarder Mark McMorris said he's "coming around and starting to feel like myself again" after suffering a concussion and pelvic injuries during a nasty fall in training on the big air course before the Milan Cortina Olympics started.

In an interview with The Associated Press on Thursday, McMorris said he lost consciousness when he fell eight days earlier during training for the contest that opened the action at Livigno Snow Park last week.

"We've been doing a lot of different tests and taking all the necessary steps to make sure I'm in good shape," he said. "I'm thankful to have passed all those tests and, at the end of the day, to be feeling good and feeling confident to get back out there."

NBA All-Star Game: Four major storylines after busy weekend in L.A.

Anthony Edwards tells Malika Andrews why he enjoyed the NBA All-Star Game's competitiveness this year. (0:52)

Anthony Edwards beamed a smile as he cradled the NBA All-Star MVP trophy for the first time in his career, just a day after making the claim that Sunday's U.S. vs. World format wouldn't return any competitive fire to the league's midseason showcase.

Either the Minnesota Timberwolves guard was motivated or he played a clever game of bait-and-switch, knowing he would compete and show how much he cares about competition and fan approval. By the time Edwards and the young Team Stars capped off the festivities, routing Team Stripes' veterans in Sunday's championship game, the weekend was already one of the more impactful in recent league history.

Anthony Edwards earns 2026 NBA All-Star MVP award

Anthony Edwards scores 32 points in 3 games for USA Stars as they win the 2026 All-Star Game Championship over USA Stripes.

Check out the best plays from Anthony Edwards' MVP-winning performance at the 2026 NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES – Anthony Edwards genuinely looked surprised when NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced that he had been named the Most Valuable Player of the 2026 All-Star Game Sunday at the Intuit Dome.

Modesty? Perhaps. But it was admittedly a little trickier to track MVP prospects through a set of four mini-games, a fresh format deployed for the showcase’s 75th edition. Instead of going with the night’s biggest scorer, the panel of media voters had to monitor and weigh each player’s production and impact across multiple 12-minute contests.

NBA All-Star Ratings Way Up After Jump to NBC

Preliminary ratings show the All-Star Game was the league’s most-watched in 14 years.

The NBA All-Star Game delivered a much-needed ratings win for the league’s midseason showcase.

The 2026 NBA All-Star Game drew 8.8 million viewers across NBC, Peacock, and Telemundo, according to preliminary Nielsen data and Adobe Analytics, the network announced Monday. That number would be an 87% increase in viewers over last year (4.7 million, second-lowest in history), and the most-watched NBA All-Star Game since 2011.

It was the first NBA All-Star Game on NBC Sports since 2002.

NBC said viewership peaked at 9.8 million viewers from 7-7:15 p.m. ET, the closing minutes of the third game of the four-game tournament—essentially the third quarter of a regular game—when Team USA Stripes defeated Team World, 48–45.

In the past, February would mark the beginning of the home stretch for network series that typically went on hiatus over the holidays and concluded in May. But in the streaming era, programs both new and old can debut pretty much whenever they want, including these five eagerly awaited shows.

The creator of the hit Irish comedy “Derry Girls,” Lisa McGee, returns with a highly anticipated new series for Netflix. Elder millennials Robyn (Sinéad Keenan), Dara (Caoilfhionn Dunne) and Saoirse (Roisin Gallagher) attend the wake of their estranged childhood pal, Greta (Natasha O'Keeffe), only to discover that the body in the coffin isn’t her. This sets off what looks to be a delirious search across Ireland and beyond to solve the mystery of her whereabouts.

3 New Netflix Movies to Watch in February 2026, Ranked by IMDb Rating

Netflix has more than just romance movies in February, but love is definitely in season on the streamer.

Outside of the streamer’s original films, it’s got a powerhouse lineup of movies borrowed from other studios that give Netflix an advantage over its rivals.

Watch With Us has narrowed down the latest additions to the three new Netflix movies to watch in February 2026, as ranked by IMDb.

Our selections include a wild comedy from the ’90s, a historical drama, and a more recent rom-com that’s packed with stars.

Let’s not pretend that Mrs. Doubtfire‘s premise isn’t a thinly veiled excuse for Robin Williams to dress in drag and act like an elderly woman for a good portion of the film. It’s also one of Williams’ most hilarious roles and the movie is fondly remembered as one of his best comedies.

The Patchwork of Data Privacy Laws: Recent Developments and Implications

The data privacy landscape in the United States continues to evolve at a rapid pace, but state-to-state changes are seldom uniform. For businesses operating across multiple jurisdictions, the challenge of maintaining compliance is increasingly complex and requires ongoing monitoring of regulatory developments. A few recent developments worth monitoring include Maryland’s new comprehensive privacy law, Rhode Island’s distinctive approach to applicability, Connecticut’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) disclosure amendment, California’s treatment of youth data as sensitive personal information, and updates to the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) framework.

Maryland’s Online Data Privacy Act (MODPA), signed into law on May 9, 2024, represents one of the most stringent state privacy regimes enacted to date. The law became effective on October 1, 2025, though it does not apply to personal data processing activities that occurred before April 1, 2026. This approximately 18-month implementation timeline, which will soon close at the time of this article's publication, has now largely elapsed, making compliance a pressing priority as organizations should anticipate enforcement efforts to begin imminently.

THE TYPE AND AMOUNT of data that technology companies can collect about their users – and how it can be used – is governed by a patchwork of state laws and sector-specific regulation in the United States. As states like Massachusetts move to tighten protections around abortion access and limit federal immigration enforcement actions locally, debates over data privacy are spilling into those conversations.

US state privacy landscape complicates global privacy compliance

As Congress struggles to translate years of debate over a comprehensive US federal data privacy framework into law, state legislatures and attorneys general continue to drive the development of the US data privacy regulatory landscape.

While there are some federal privacy laws, these are mostly sector-specific like the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) for financial institutions (FIs) or the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) for certain health care entities, or narrow like the notably idiosyncratic Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) for companies handling audiovisual materials – a recent favourite of the plaintiff’s bar.

However, a total of 19 states have now enacted comprehensive data privacy laws that impose similar but slightly varying obligations around transparency, consumer rights, risk assessments and purpose limitations for businesses that collect and process US consumer personal data. Layered onto these comprehensive state privacy laws are more narrow state privacy laws that target only certain types of data or particular use cases.
