Cub Swanson will face off against Nate Landwehr in his return fight at UFC 327

Cub Swanson returns to UFC 327 to face Nate Landwehr on April 11 in Miami, potentially marking the Hall of Famer's final fight.

After more than a year away from competition, UFC Hall of Famer Cub Swanson has decided to postpone retirement and return to the octagon for at least one more campaign. The 42-year-old featherweight veteran will face Nate “The Train” Landwehr at UFC 327 on April 11 at the Kaseya Center in Miami in what could potentially mark the closing chapter of one of MMA's most entertaining careers.

Cub Swanson books UFC 327 banger after deciding against retirement

Retirement was an option, but Swanson (30-14 MMA, 15-10 UFC) has chosen against it. Instead, he'll return April 11 at UFC 327 in Miami when he battles Nate Landwehr (18-7 MMA, 5-5 UFC) in a three-round bout at Kaseya Center.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Swanson first announced the bout on social media.

Swanson, 42, most recently fought in December 2024 when he cracked Billy Quarantillo with a walkoff knockout right cross. Swanson had indicated the fight would be his final, but openly admitted to grappling with the decision in its immediate aftermath. A member of the UFC roster since the WEC merger in 2011, Swanson is 5-3 in his most recent eight outings.

Fans Left Confused After ‘Australian Bruce Buffer’ Spotted Road Raging Hours Before UFC 325

Bruce Buffer has arrived in Australia as part of the UFC’s broadcasting team. At the second Paramount+ CBS event, the promotion’s longtime announcer is set to lend his iconic voice as fighters step inside the Octagon. However, just hours before UFC 325 took over Qudos Bank Arena, the 68-year-old reportedly got caught up in a road rage incident in Sydney, leaving fans suspicious.

“BREAKING: BRUCE BUFFER ROAD RAGE! Bruce Buffer, famous UFC fight announcer, caught on video having an argument today in Sydney just before UFC 325 😲,” MeterPeter UFC posted on X.

In the video, a man who looks strikingly similar to Bruce Buffer is seen arguing with another man sitting inside a car. For a brief moment, fans were convinced they were watching the UFC announcer lose his cool. But they soon realised that the man was not Buffer. The man spoke with an Australian accent in the video, which cleared the confusion. Once fans realized it wasn’t Buffer, they started reacting as the clip went viral.

Lopez vs Stevenson Undercard Results: Bruce Carrington & Keyshawn Davis Score Big Stoppages

The undercard fights supporting Teofimo Lopez vs. Shakur Stevenson set the stage for the main event, and those fights did not disappoint.

Keyshawn Davis was all business, and it showed as he scored a 12th round TKO over Jamaine Ortiz with just seconds remaining in the fight.

Davis (14-0, 10 KOs) vs Ortiz (20-3, 10 KOs) was far from a classic fight, as boos rained down from the crowd throughout, but Davis finished the fight in impressive fashion.

In the opening round, Ortiz used his right jab and footwork to create different angles against Davis. Meanwhile, Davis was feinting a lot with his wide stance and was able to land quick counter right hands multiple times. The fight got chippy between the two fighters at the end of the round, prompting the referee to warn them. Rounds two and three showcased great boxing by both fighters, who were using their feet and feints to score on each other.

    Jamaine Halts Keyshawn’s Face-Off Antics at Weigh-In

During the recent weigh-in event on January 30, 2026, at Madison Square Garden, Jamaine Ortiz asserted himself firmly against Keyshawn Davis’s antics. The interaction was brief but significant, showcasing a pre-fight tension that set the stage for their upcoming bout.

The weigh-in featured a tense moment when Keyshawn Davis attempted to engage Ortiz by placing his hand near Ortiz’s face. Ortiz responded promptly, slapping Davis’s hand away. Their encounter was quickly interrupted by security, signaling both fighters’ serious intentions for the match.

Following the incident, Davis characterized the exchange as mere “acting.” He claimed that he had gained a psychological edge over Ortiz. This reaction is consistent with Davis’s approach to fight promotions, where he often uses theatrics to shift focus and manage perception.

Saturday Morning Confidential: The NBA Trade Season Latest

So let's just get right into it as Thursday's 3 PM ET NBA trade deadline draws ever closer … with a look at the latest from the Giannis Sweepstakes and much more happening elsewhere:

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks are focal point as trade deadline nears

Suitors aplenty may be lining up deals for Milwaukee's superstar with the Feb. 5 trade deadline quickly approaching.

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo looms as a central figure to watch as the Feb. 5 trade deadline nears.

As the NBA trade deadline loomed last year, a star player reacted to the blockbuster trade that sent Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers and Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks by saying the following:

“It’s a business. You have to understand this. Nobody’s safe. Nobody’s safe.”

This season’s deadline is fast approaching, now less than a week away, and it’s Antetokounmpo who is the epicenter of the NBA trade universe this time. Speculation about his future — will the Bucks trade him or not? — will continue until he either gets moved or until the deadline hits Thursday afternoon. And if he doesn’t get moved now, the rumors will almost certainly resume in June around the draft and the start of free agency.

How Blazers can shake up Giannis trade sweepstakes, much to the delight of Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks have been backed into a corner when it comes to the inevitable Giannis Antetokounmpo trade all season. Had they acted sooner, they likely would have received a historic haul for their two-time MVP. Asset-rich teams like the Spurs and Rockets might have been interested last summer. They've since moved on, and that has left the Bucks to sift through lesser offers.

Trading Antetokounmpo for, say, Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges would do little for Milwaukee's long-term outlook. Golden State's draft picks are potentially valuable, but ultimately a mystery box. Kel'El Ware is a promising young big. You'd expect someone with a clearer path to stardom to be the centerpiece of an Antetokounmpo package. But what could the Bucks do? Antetokounmpo is set for 2027 free agency. They had no leverage. They could trade him for 50 cents on the dollar or let him leave for nothing.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are trading De'Andre Hunter to the Sacramento Kings for Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis, sources told ESPN.

The three-team deal includes the Chicago Bulls acquiring Kings forward Dario Saric and two future second-round picks, sources said.

The Cavaliers turn Hunter's salary slot into depth at point guard with Schroder and a top defender on the market with Ellis. The Cavaliers also save about $50 million in salary and luxury tax bills this season because of the transaction and drop their tax bill from $164 million to $120 million, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.

Cavaliers reportedly acquire Keon Ellis, Dennis Schroder from Kings in exchange for De'Andre Hunter

The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired guards Keon Ellis and Dennis Schröder from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for De'Andre Hunter, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.

Hunter, 28, was dealt to the Cavaliers before last season's NBA trade deadline from the Atlanta Hawks for a package that included Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, three second-round picks and two swaps. However, he fell out of head coach Kenny Atkinson's rotation in recent weeks.

Cavs and Lakers discussing De’Andre Hunter trade framework with third team involvement

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cavs appear to be moving closer to a significant trade, with De’Andre Hunter potentially headed to the Los Angeles Lakers in a deal that would address both basketball fit and financial flexibility for the wine and gold.

On the latest Wine and Gold Talk podcast, cleveland.com beat reporter Chris Fedor dropped a bombshell regarding discussions between the two teams: “My sources tell me that the Cavs and the Lakers have discussed a general framework surrounding De’Andre Hunter for Rui Hachimura and Dalton Knecht and then bringing in a third team.”

This potential trade represents much more than a simple player swap. For Cleveland, it addresses multiple needs simultaneously – most importantly, providing crucial financial breathing room for a team currently squeezed by the NBA’s punitive second apron tax penalties.

Movsar Evloev UFC Snub: Daniel Cormier Weighs In on Controversy

In the midst of UFC matchmaking controversies, Movsar Evloev’s perfect 9-0 record and impressive victories have failed to earn him a title shot, leaving Daniel Cormier shocked by his lack of recognition. Following Arman Tsarukyan’s UFC 324 snub, Cormier asserts that Evloev’s situation is even more precarious, highlighting the Russian contender’s absence from championship conversations despite being acknowledged by featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski as a deserving challenger. The stakes are high as UFC 325 approaches, featuring a controversial rematch that shadows Evloev’s unfulfilled potential.

In a recent discussion, Daniel Cormier expressed his astonishment regarding the UFC’s matchmaking decisions, particularly highlighting the snubbing of undefeated contender Movsar Evloev in favor of lesser-ranked fighters. Cormier can’t fathom why a fighter with Evloev’s credentials has yet to see the opportunity to compete for a title. His comments underscore a growing frustration among fans and analysts alike about the mechanics behind title shots and rankings within the UFC. Cormier’s analysis points out that the current structure seems to disregard the hard work and unbeaten records of fighters like Evloev.

Movsar Evloev has worse luck than Arman Tsarukyan, says UFC commentator

Could Movsar Evloev be in an even tougher spot than Arman Tsarukyan finds himself in?

Evloev has long been widely viewed as the rightful No. 1 contender for the UFC Featherweight Championship. That isn’t the case in the minds of UFC CEO Dana White and the promotion’s matchmakers. Evloev will have to wait his turn, as Diego Lopes is getting another fight with current 145-pound champion Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 325 on Saturday.

In a new video posted on his YouTube channel, UFC color commentator and Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier said that Evloev may have it worse than Tsarukyan (via MMAJunkie).

At the time, the American said she was "not coming back" but during an interview on the Today Show on Wednesday, Williams did not rule out stepping back on to the court.
