    30 under 30 2025

From pipe robots to Netflix heroes, 2025’s 30 Under 30 list is jam-packed with Australia’s brightest entrepreneurs, founders and stars, each making waves in their respective industries. Their success is not only reflected in funding (of which our founders have banked more than $150 million in capital), but also viewership, streams and sales.

In technology, AI takes centre stage. Take Relevance AI: Jacky Koh, Daniel Vassilev and Daniel Palmer have raised $42 million to date to help companies develop their own AI agents to automate tasks without coding. Then there’s Kai van Lieshout – the 23-year-old behind Lyrebird, an AI-powered clinical documentation platform that automates scribing and administrative tasks directly from patient-doctor conversations. It has just raised $12 million this June, valuing the two-year-old start-up at $50 million.

PSG vs. Tottenham: Archie Gray starts as Thomas Frank shuffles pack

You have reached ESPN's Australian edition. Stay on current site or go to US version.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank has rung the changes for his team's Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday following Spurs' north London derby defeat at the weekend.

Lucas Bergvall, Pape Matar Sarr, Archie Gray, Pedro Porro and Randal Kolo Muani were all named in the starting XI as Kevin Danso, Destiny Udogie, João Palhinha, Mohammed Kudus and Wilson Odobert dropped out.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs will line up in an experimental 4-2-2-2 formation with Gray in midfield or in Frank's controversial 3-5-2 which came under heavy criticism following the team's meek defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates.

Budget 2025: key points at a glance

Rachel Reeves is announcing her financial update – here are the main points, with political analysis

The chancellor’s opening remarks were somewhat overshadowed by the fact that the Office for Budget Responsibility’s (OBR) assessment of her budget’s impact were accidentally published early, in an unprecedented gaffe that the shadow chancellor, Mel Stride, called “outrageous”.

As she stood at the dispatch box, Reeves opens by saying it was “deeply disappointing” and a “serious error on their part”, meaning the OBR.

“We are rebuilding our economy,” she says, pointing to trade deals with the US, India and the EU, planning reforms, an overhaul of the visa system and a change of fiscal rules to raise public investment to a four-decade high. She once again refers to the £22bn “black hole” in the public finances left by the Conservatives, saying that taxes on the wealthiest have helped close the gap and fund the NHS.

Henry Zeffman: Early release of Budget detail is totally surreal

Keir Starmer and Kemi Badenoch have gone through the motions of a Prime Minister's Question session before the Budget.

In response to questions from the Conservative leader, the prime minister said that it's "literally 25 minutes" until the measures will be unveiled.

The Budget is already out there, thanks to the Office for Budget Responsibility, which has published the details in error.

It caused a buzz in the Commons chamber, as Treasury Minister Torsten Bell – who was sitting behind Rachel Reeves – passed his mobile phone to the chancellor presumably to notify her of the news.

Reeves had also been looking at her own phone, and notes were being passed down the row of cabinet ministers.

Budget 2025: Key points at a glance

Everything you need to know following the Chancellor’s speech to the Commons

Rachel Reeves has delivered her Budget to the House of Commons.

Here, we’re summarising the key tax and spending policies that the Chancellor is announcing.

Some of the details were released early – by accident – by the Office for Budget Responsibility.

The total tax increases, by 2029-30, will amount to £26bn, with 920,000 more higher-rate taxpayers by that point.

That will mean a record tax burden of 38.3pc of GDP by the end of the decade.

Hailing from Queensland and a member of the Brisbane Lions Academy, Prindable was the first player selected by Collingwood.

AFL Draft: Collingwood swoop on West Perth midfielder Sam Swadling at pick 37

Collingwood have swooped on West Perth midfielder Sam Swadling with the first pick of the third round in the AFL Draft.

After no WA prospects were taken in the second round following the selection of Jacob Farrow by Essendon in the first round on Wednesday, Swadling ensured WA had some instant representation in the third round by being selected at pick No.37.

Swadling is close friends with fellow Falcons product Farrow, who was the only West Australian selected in the first round of the draft on Wednesday, going to Essendon at pick 10.

A hugely prolific midfielder, the noted ball-winner averaged a remarkable 35 disposals per game at WAFL colts level while also notching more than 20 touches in two of his three appearances at league level.

    ‘Banger’ drafted by Collingwood

FORMER Sawtell/Toormina player Angus Anderson has created AFL North Coast history by becoming the first male player from the region to be drafted onto the primary list of an AFL club.

The 22 year-old was selected with Pick 57 in the 2025 AFL National Draft by Collingwood.

Collingwood’s National Recruiting Manager Shane O’Bree said Anderson showed traits which made him attractive to the Magpies.

“When you watch Angus play football, there is a lot of heart in his game,” O’Bree said.

Anderson’s journey toward this moment has been one of perseverance.

He played his junior football with the Saints as well as his first foray into the seniors playing representative football with the North Coast Force, a member of the Northern Heat Development Program and QBE Sydney Swans Academy.

2025 Telstra AFL Draft: Pick 60 – Will Darcy

The father-son prospect was taken with the final selection in the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft.

The 18-year-old becomes the latest in the Darcy lineage to land at the Kennel, joining brother Sam on the list and following in the footsteps of father Luke (226 games) and late grandfather David (133 games).

Will was taken with Pick 60, the final selection in the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft.

Having suffered a back injury which limited him to only five appearances with the Oakleigh Chargers, Will’s ability to impact at either end of the ground will sure excite Bulldogs fans.

Bulldogs Player Acquisition and Strategy Manager Michael Regan said Will's development through school footy and the Coates Talent League had been pleasing.

“He’s still growing”: The father-son project that’s worth the gamble

Western Bulldogs father-son prospect Will Darcy knows he's not a finished product yet and will need to put in the work to crack into a strong Footscray side as he awaits his selection to the club via either the National Draft or rookie draft.

Will is a master aerialist and dominates in marking contests with his long frame, making him a versatile option that can be swung forward from defensive 50 if needed, possessing the skill to take crucial intercept marks or to sit deep in the forward line and crash packs.

However, Darcy had limited exposure in the Coates Talent League this season, mainly due to a back injury which kept him to five games, though his similarities to older brother Sam Darcy were clear, despite being 12 centimetres shorter than the prized unicorn talent.
