Scott Adams, 'Dilbert' creator and conservative commentator, dies at 68

Scott Adams, the "Dilbert" creator whose cartoon was dropped by hundreds of newspapers after he made racist remarks, died months after revealing his diagnosis with prostate cancer, his family said on Tuesday.

"Unfortunately, this isn't good news," his ex-wife Shelly Miles told Adams' fans on YouTube. "He's not with us … anymore."

President Donald Trump praised Adams as a "fantastic guy, who liked and respected me when it wasn’t fashionable to do so."

"He bravely fought a long battle against a terrible disease," Trump said in a statement. "My condolences go out to his family, and all of his many friends and listeners."

Scott Adams, whose comic strip “Dilbert” satirized a certain kind of workplace culture for more than 30 years before its author was canceled because of his comments on race, died Tuesday morning after a battle with metastatic prostate cancer. He was 68.

The announcement came via Adams’ YouTube channel, where he livestreamed daily until Monday morning.

“Hi everyone. Unfortunately this isn’t good news. Of course he waited until just before the show started, but he’s not with us anymore,” his ex-wife, Shelly Adams, said through tears Tuesday morning.

Scott Adams, Dilbert comic strip creator, dies at age 68 after battle with prostate cancer

Scott Adams, the cartoonist who created the "Dilbert" comic strip, has died at the age of 68, his first ex-wife revealed on Tuesday.  Adams said last year that he was diagnosed with an aggressive prostate cancer.

Adams' ex-wife, Shelly Miles, announced the news of his death during a live stream of his YouTube show, "Real Coffee with Scott Adams."

She read a "final message" from Adams on the show, in which he wrote that he had "an amazing life" and gave it everything he had. He urged people to "be useful" and said, "please know I loved you all to the very end."

"Oh s**t, that actually happened" – Steven Adams admits he never expected to be drafted

Steven Adams has built quite a solid 12-year NBA career to date. It is something he initially thought would not happen, but he is proud that he was able to put everything together.

The big man from New Zealand was selected 12th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder after playing one season at the University of Pittsburgh. With the Panthers, he started in all 32 games he played, compiling averages of 7.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and two blocks while shooting 57.1% from the field, earning a spot on the Big East All-Rookie Team.

Speaking on "The Old Man and The Three" podcast along with Rockets teammate Reed Sheppard, 32-year-old Adams looked back at the night he was drafted in the NBA and shared what went through his mind.
