Adrian Newey: Honda president Koji Watanabe says Aston Martin team principal's comments about inexperience were a 'misunderstanding'

Adrian Newey said earlier this month he was unaware about Honda's inexperience before their full return to F1 as an engine manufacturer; watch final practice for the Japanese Grand Prix at 2.30am ahead of Qualifying at 6am live on Sky Sports F1 and Main Event on Saturday

Honda boss Koji Watanabe claimed Adrian Newey's comments about a lack of experience at the engine manufacturer were a "misunderstanding".

Honda have made a full-time comeback to F1 this year having ended their previous works partnership with Red Bull at the end of 2021, although the Japanese manufacturer continued to provide technical support for a power unit that claimed further world titles and race victories with the Milton Keynes-based team until the end of last year.

However, anti-gambling advocates in the UK and Australia are concerned Portelli’s new business ventures both here and abroad, will increase gambling advertising in places frequented by families.

Dubai built its boom on expats. Now war has the city on edge

Add articles to your saved list and come back to them anytime.

As missiles streaked across the sky above the United Arab Emirates last weekend, the first images seen by the outside world largely came from hotel balconies and luxury apartments.

The city’s booming influencer community and tourists filmed air defence systems light up the night’s sky as they barricaded themselves inside hotel rooms, many pleading for help.

But in the days since, a counter narrative has emerged from the those who call the United Arab Emirates home.

Western expats have flooded social media with images of heaving cafes, crowded malls and busy beach clubs, pushing back against what they say is a distorted picture of life inside the Gulf’s expat hubs.
