Thousands of beachgoers take advantage of Perth’s lingering summer-like picture-perfect weather

Perth is in the midst of a warmly welcomed hot streak that has the city feeling like it’s summer.

The mercury hit 31C on Sunday, with thousands flocking to the beach to make the most of the April sunshine that will continue well into this week.

Monday was forecast to hit 27C before it returns to 30C on Tuesday and continues in the high 20s for the next two days.

The Bureau of Meteorology said the April warm spell was slightly above the month’s usual average of 26C, but not unusual.

“Temperatures are expected to be in the high 20s or near 30 degrees and drop back into the low 20s from Friday,” the BOM spokesperson said.

‘Harrowing’: Cyclone Narelle leaves graveyard of turtles, dolphins and seabirds in Western Australia

As the flooding from Tropical Cyclone Narelle’s violent visit to Exmouth subsided and the winds dropped, Brinkley Davies headed to Graveyards beach.

The beach, at least according to some Exmouth locals, got its name because of the tendency for turtles to get stuck on the dunes.

But on Sunday morning, this stretch of sand in remote Western Australia had turned into a literal graveyard, strewn with thousands of baby turtles and turtle eggs alongside dead fish, sea snakes, dolphins and seabirds.

Work continues on cyclone-hit ports at Dampier and Ashburton

Inspectors are on site at the Port of Dampier and the Port of Ashburton in Western Australia, assessing the damage done by Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle.

Both ports re-opened to some extent on March 28, however significant infrastructure damage is restricting the types of cargo that can be loaded and unloaded.

At the Port of Dampier all general cargo imports remain suspended with damage to the general cargo precinct including the Dampier Cargo Wharf and adjacent floating deck facility. The Bulk Liquids Berth is still operating with fuel imports not affected.

At the Port of Ashburton the Cargo Wharf remains closed for inspections over the next two to three days, with Pilbara Ports committed to communicating updates as it has them.

Revolutionary iPhone 18 Pro Camera Tech Will Blow Your Mind

The iPhone 18 Pro is poised to set a new benchmark in smartphone innovation. Apple is introducing a range of advanced features, including a variable aperture camera, under-display Face ID, and a next-generation processor. While the overall design retains the signature Apple aesthetic, subtle refinements aim to enhance both functionality and user experience. This flagship device reflects Apple’s commitment to blending innovative technology with practical usability. Below is a detailed exploration of what the iPhone 18 Pro has to offer in a new video from SaranByte.

The iPhone 18 Pro’s camera system is designed to redefine the possibilities of mobile photography. One of its standout features is the variable aperture, which uses a mechanical iris to adjust the aperture size dynamically.
