Ipswich Town travel to Carrow Road to take on local rivals Norwich City

With any football derby, emotions are high, tension is thick and fans are hoping their side can get a win to provide ultimate bragging rights — and it will be no different for the East Anglian derby.

This time, Norwich City take on rivals Ipswich Town at home at Carrow Road in what could be a big game for both Championship sides.

Town currently sit in third, just one point below the second automatic promotion slot, while Norwich will be hoping a few more points could put them in the play-offs, so there is much to play for.

Norwich and Ipswich will meet in one of the biggest East Anglian derbies in recent memory at Carrow Road in the Championship on Saturday lunchtime.

The Canaries have enjoyed a resurgence in the second half of the season and still harbour faint hopes of gatecrashing the playoffs, while Ipswich are firmly in the race for automatic promotion and will take a giant step towards a top-two finish if they secure a rare win at the home of their fierce rivals.

Golf great Ian Baker-Finch is urging Australia's Masters hopefuls to stay cool as a hot start looms critical at a potentially treacherous Augusta National.

With a rare forecast of four clear days for the first major of the year, officials are tipped to test the world's best players with devilish pin placements and perilously fast fairways.

Augusta National was one of the first clubs to install sophisticated sub-air systems under all 18 greens to control moisture levels and air temperature to effectively manage scoring.Former runners-up Jason Day and Cameron Smith have both welcomed the expected gruelling conditions, declaring "the tougher the better".

Melbourne rock the casuals ahead of Round 3 clash

Melbourne has become the first club to embrace the casual clothing trend, with squad members arriving to Sunday's game in their choice of attire.

Latrelle Pickett wore all black, Koltyn Tholstrup rocked boardies, Jake Lever brought a duffle bag, Max Gawn sported a tank top and Ed Langdon brought a bicycle with him.

But it was Changkuoth Jiath's tee and jeans combo which arguably won the pre-game fashion stakes.

The move aligns with Melbourne's strategy of embracing personality and having more fun in 2026, which has been visible in all elements of the footy club from the brand of footy they have played to their social media strategy.

Watson: Melbourne’s innovation will be copied – and so it should

Tim Watson believes Melbourne’s innovation in wearing casual clothes to Sunday’s game against Carlton will be followed by others.

The Demons turned heads when players rocked up to the MCG in casual wear rather than regular club gear.

Watson, who has been advocating for this for some time, loves what the Dees did and reckons others will now follow suit.

“We live in a copycat league,” said Watson on SEN Breakfast.

“It just takes one brave, creative individual or a group to buck the system, innovate and adore for a long-held belief to be shattered.

“Melbourne allowing its players to wear clothes they choose to a game will be followed by a stampede of other clubs.

Ugochukwu feeling confident ahead of Qualifying after going fastest in Melbourne Practice

QUALIFYING: Nael beats Ugochukwu to pole as Campos seal Melbourne 1-2

Ugo Ugochukwu says he knows what he has to do to take pole in Melbourne, with the Campos Racing driver feeling confident about his chances after a good Free Practice session.

The American driver’s 1:34.607 was the fastest time by a good margin, with Rodin Motorsport’s Brando Badoer his closest rival, 0.427s behind.

For Ugochukwu, it was a positive start to the weekend, but speaking after stepping out of a debrief with Campos, he says the aim is all about taking this form forward to Qualifying.

“I’m feeling good of course,” said Ugochukwu. “It's a good start. I was feeling really good out on track, the car was feeling good, so I think we're in quite a good place going into Qualifying.

Ugochukwu and Mini fast in F2 and F3

Ugo Ugochukwu and Gabriele Mini have led the opening practice sessions of Formula 3 and 2, respectively as the Aussies find their feet.

F3 started Friday’s action with Ugochukwu carrying on his momentum from New Zealand and being well clear of the field.

Ugochukwu was the only driver to record a 1m34s time in the one-hour session with his 1:34.607 four tenths clear of Brando Badoer and Noah Stromsted.

James Wharton in his return to Prema was the leading Aussie in 17th place, being a second off the pace.

After a strong debut season last year, Wharton hopes to take a step forward after moving from ART.

Ugochukwu leads first FIA F3 practice of 2026 in Melbourne

Ugo Ugochukwu set the pace in practice ahead of the first round of the 2026 FIA Formula 3 championship.

The Campos Racing driver was 0.427 seconds quicker than Brando Badoer, while the next five drivers were all separated by less than a tenth of a second.

Practice was brought to an end five minutes early after flames appeared from the back of Mattia Colnaghi’s car and he came to a stop on track.

The majority of the session ran relatively incident free. A few drivers suffered lock-ups and trips over the grass, including Patrick Heuzenroeder, who is deputising for the injured Ernesto Rivera in Melbourne, but all were able to continue without problems.

‘Not serious about rugby league’: Exiled star slammed over Storm snub as swap players named

Zac Lomax’s move to the Melbourne Storm was reportedly derailed by former teammate and ex-NSW Origin player Ryan Matterson — who has unloaded about never being consulted in the deal, despite being “the first blamed”.

Caught in the crossfire in negotiations between the Storm and Parramatta Eels, the forgotten Origin forward has since broken his silence on the matter.

Eels forward Ryan Matterson and the Rugby League Players Association (RLPA) have criticised the actions of Parramatta and Melbourne and accused the clubs of using him as a pawn in the now-spiked Zac Lomax trade.

Melbourne had agreed to sign Matterson – whose future is clouded as he deals with ongoing concussion symptoms – if they were allowed to sign Lomax, but the deal fell through after Matterson refused to move without a contract for 2027.

Stocks rise ahead of Fed minutes as Nvidia shares gain: Live updates

Stocks moved higher on Wednesday, supported by gains in key technology stocks, as traders awaited the release of the minutes from the Federal Reserve's most recent policy meeting.

The S&P 500 climbed 0.9%, while the Nasdaq Composite added 1.4%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 272 points, or 0.6%.

Nvidia shares advanced more than 2% on the heels of Meta announcing Tuesday that it's going to use millions of Nvidia's chips in its data center buildout.

Additionally, fellow "Magnificent Seven" member Amazon moved higher by 2% after regulatory filings showed Bill Ackman's Pershing Square grew its stake in the e-commerce giant by 65% during the fourth quarter. That makes Amazon the fund's third-largest holding. The move comes after the stock snapped a nine-day losing streak.

Stock market today: Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq futures rise as AI worries recede, with Fed minutes ahead

Gains for US stocks picked up pace on Wednesday in a sign that AI fears are waning, as investors waited for Federal Reserve minutes to give insight into interest-rate cuts.

The S&P 500 (^GSPC) added 0.5%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) picked up 0.8%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI), which is less exposed to tech, moved up 0.4% after the major US gauges closed Tuesday with modest gains.

Technology stocks are recovering composure after a turbulent stretch that saw software names in particular take a bruising. But while the pressure is easing, investors are still weighing the long-term impact of AI on business models and corporate competition, and whether AI investments will pay off.

ROME — Two groups of pro-Palestinian activists were prevented by authorities from coming into contact with the opening stages of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics torch relay, Italian police said Saturday.

Both groups — one of them with about 15 people — were removed before they reached the relay route in Rome, police said.

A third group of about 10 people that was monitored by police waved Palestinian flags when the relay passed by the city's biggest university, La Sapienza.

There were also three people carrying signs in support of Venezuela near the American embassy.
