‘Warhammer 40,000’ Animated Series in Development at Amazon, Henry Cavill to Produce (EXCLUSIVE)
The event series is a spinoff of the Prime Video show "Secret Level"
A “Warhammer 40,000” animated event series is in development from Amazon MGM Studios, Blur Studios, and Games Workshop, Variety has learned exclusively.
In addition, Henry Cavill — who is attached to lead a live-action “Warhammer 40,000” series currently in development at Amazon — will executive produce the animated series as well. It is being developed alongside the live-action project.
The animated project will serve as a spinoff of the Amazon animated anthology series “Secret Level,” which featured a “Warhammer 40,000” episode when it debuted in late 2024. Blur Studios produced “Secret Level,” while Games Workshop is the manufacturer behind the tabletop miniature wargame.
Mike Flanagan In Talks To EP Henry Cavill’s ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Amazon MGM Series
With his series take of Stephen King’s Carrie set to hit Prime Video on October 7, Mike Flanagan will soon be back in business with Amazon MGM Studios for the series adaptation of British miniature war game Warhammer 40,000.
Deadline hears that Flanagan is in talks to join the series as an EP. We understand that Flanagan is also engaging as a showrunner, writer and director for the series.
Amazon MGM Studios acquired global rights to Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 in December 2024 for Cavill to EP and star in. Scott Stuber, Nick Nesbitt, and Patrick Chu are producing for United Artists.
