    Centre’s FY26 finances steady till Feb; capex strong, deficit under check

    The central government’s fiscal deficit stood at ₹12.52 lakh crore at the end of February, or 80.4% of the full-year Budget Estimate for 2025–26, lower than 85.8% in the corresponding period last year, according to official data released on Monday. 

    The government has pegged the fiscal deficit for FY26 at ₹15.58 lakh crore, or 4.4% of GDP. 

    As per the monthly accounts, total receipts during April–February stood at ₹27.92 lakh crore, accounting for 82% of the revised estimates (RE) for FY26. This included ₹21.45 lakh crore in net tax revenue, ₹5.81 lakh crore in non-tax revenue, and ₹65,547 crore in non-debt capital receipts. 

    Transfers to states rose significantly to ₹12.66 lakh crore, up by ₹85,837 crore from a year ago.

    April 1 Will Be A Great Day For Terminator Fans After Disappointing Cancellation Update

    Fans of the Terminator franchise will have a new go-to place for several time travel adventures very soon.

    Kicking off in 1984 with The Terminator, most are familiar with James Cameron's iconic sci-fi saga, which primarily follows the Connor family as multiple killer robots are sent back in time from an apocalyptic future to prevent John Connor from becoming the leader of the human resistance. The franchise has seriously struggled to regain its footing since Cameron left the director's chair, but one of the best installments is now coming to a new streaming service.

    On April 1, Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991), Terminator Genisys (2015), and Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) will all be available to stream via Paramount+. T2 is widely regarded as the best Terminator movie, making this a win for those who are fans of the franchise and current Paramount+ subscribers.
