At 26, Emily Arthur stands at the top of the Milano Cortina halfpipe with a feeling she didn’t quite have in PyeongChang or Beijing: a calm, grounded sense of maturity and a desire to enjoy every moment.

'Nothing to lose': Emily Arthur soars into her third Olympics

Emily Arthur of Woronora Heights is set to take on the world's best once again as she prepares to represent Australia in the snowboard halfpipe at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

The 26-year-old, who was born in Kogarah before finding her feet on a snowboard at age six, carries the hopes of the Sutherland Shire community as she enters her third Olympic campaign.

It is a journey that has come full circle for the former St John Bosco College student, who graduated in 2017. Her old school, "Team Bosco," remains one of her loudest cheering squads, recently stating on social media that Emily's determination has turned her childhood dreams into a reality: "Go get it, Emily! Your Engadine community is right behind you."

Emily Arthur Qualifies for Her Third Olympics, Soars with Confidence

Emily Arthur has qualified for her third Olympics, showcasing remarkable confidence and ability in the halfpipe event. This achievement marks a significant milestone in her snowboarding career.

For the first time since 2014, Australia was set to send three women to compete in the halfpipe at the Olympics. Emily Arthur, a veteran rider, took on the role of mentor for her fellow teammates. Misaki Vaughan, aged 20, and Amelie Haskell, aged 18, were part of this historic representation.

Unfortunately, Misaki Vaughan has been ruled out of the competition due to an injury sustained during training. Her withdrawal was a setback for the Australian team, but the spirit of the squad remains strong.

Arthur Gea on facing Stan Wawrinka: 'I grew up watching him!'

Arthur Gea, the surprise winner over Jiri Lehecka in the first round of the Australian Open, shared his thoughts in a press conference. The qualifier, ranked 198th in the world, also looked ahead to his upcoming second-round match against veteran and soon-to-retire Stan Wawrinka.

'It's a pleasure; he's one of the guys I've watched my whole life, I'm so happy to play him. We'll probably play on a nice court again. That's also why I love tennis—for the emotions it brings, so I'm super happy.'

FYI- Ive never bought a single item from any of them after years of using your app, a goal that started as short term but has developed into long term.
