Chris Hemsworth appears on bended knee praying he can return home safely to his daughter as he reprises his role as Thor in the latest teaser for Avengers: Doomsday.

The Australian star can be seen back in the role of the God of Thunder, praying to his late father, the Norse god Odin.

"Lend me the strength of the All-fathers, so that I may fight once more, defeat one more enemy, and return home to her," he says in the trailer.

Chris Evans Returns for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ as Captain America With a Child, Teaser Confirms

Marvel Studios has finally dropped the first teaser trailer for “Avengers: Doomsday” online, after it aired in theaters last Thursday attached to initial screenings of “Avatar: Fire and Ash.”

The first teaser trailer has revealed that Steve Rogers, the star-spangled Avenger portrayed by Chris Evans, will return in the next Marvel team-up adventure, set to release Dec. 18, 2026. In a twist, Captain America is the father to a newborn child.

Marvel is slowly building up to “Doomsday,” which hits theaters in a little less than a year. There will reportedly be more teasers that focus on other characters in the coming weeks. The Captain America trailer leaked online in the run-up to its theatrical debut, and a Thor-focused teaser also appeared in social media leaks this week. It’s expected that it too will run in theaters with showings of “Avatar: Fire and Ash” beginning Thursday, like the Cap teaser.

Avengers: Doomsday trailer – as the hype builds, has Marvel got lost in the multiverse?

Marvel has put the first official trailer for the new Avengers meetup before random screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Recordings of it have leaked online – but many questions still remain

Is anything real any more? For the last few weeks there have been rumours that Marvel is about to drop the first official footage for its forthcoming superhero epic Avengers: Doomsday, ahead of screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. And it makes a sort of sense: the latest instalment of James Cameron’s 3D mega-project about blue aliens and colonial shame is clearly a visual spectacle, so why not lure fans of Captain America and Thor into cinemas by dangling the promise of a Doomsday trailer in front of them? In a world in which everyone expects everything to be online instantly, could the most radical experiment be to put this thing in cinemas?

Marvel Is Marketing Avengers: Doomsday To The Wrong Fans

It’s been a crazy week or so for Marvel: originally, the studio intended to premiere its first Avengers: Doomsday trailer ahead of James Cameron’s epic film Avatar: Fire and Ash. Unfortunately, the trailer was leaked online days earlier, showing a few quiet scenes of Steve Rogers (complete with old uniform and new baby) getting ready to dive back into the superhero game.

It’s a weird and underwhelming trailer, and when I tried to figure out why, it hit me. Marvel is marketing Avengers: Doomsday to casual fans rather than those who have kept the studio afloat in recent years.
