    The winless Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made a big change to their top order in their bid to change their fortunes in IPL 2026. They left out Finn Allen, possibly their highest-ceiling top-order option, and brought in his New Zealand compatriot Tim Seifert.

    KKR won the toss and chose to bat against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad, with their captain Ajinkya Rahane reckoning it would help his beleaguered batting line-up to play with freedom, without the pressure of a target in front of them.

    Shubman Gill, the GT captain, said he would have bowled anyway. While he didn't think dew had played a major role in Ahmedabad so far this season, he felt it could become a factor in this game and going forward, given the rising daytime temperatures.

    Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were forced to make two big changes to their side as they opted to bat in their home game against the in-form Punjab Kings (PBKS). Varun Chakravarthy injured his hand while taking a catch in KKR's previous game against SRH, while Sunil Narine was unwell, captain Ajinkya Rahane said at the toss.

    The last time KKR played a match without either of their mystery spinners was back in 2019.

    Rovman Powell comes into the side for his first match of the season, while fast bowler Navdeep Saini makes his KKR debut and will play his first IPL game since 2023, when he turned out for Rajasthan Royals. This means Anukul Roy is the only spinner in KKR's starting XI, with no spinner among their Impact Player options.

    Tonight, it’s a desperate home side vs the tournament's in-form team. Eden Gardens has seen bigger hypes, but rarely a fixture with this much urgency on one side and momentum on the other.

    Bangladesh confirm batting order change for Pakistan series

    Bangladesh coach Phil Simmons has confirmed veteran right-hander Litton Das will bat at No.5 during the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan.

    Das hasn't batted at No.5 since the 2019 edition of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, with Simmons hoping the move to the middle-order will help the 31-year-old find some form in 50-over cricket.

    In Das' last eight ODI innings he is yet to reach double figures with the bat and Simmons believes the switch to No.5 will help both he and the side across the three-match series against Pakistan than commences on Wednesday.

    Tigers begin new journey in ODIs

    Bangladesh will begin a new journey toward the ODI World Cup scheduled for next year, starting with the three-match ODI series against Pakistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.

    The first match is scheduled to begin at 2:15pm and T Sport will telecast it live.

    This will be Bangladesh’s first international match after more than three months and the first in ODI since October last year.

    Bangladesh are currently 10th in the ICC ODI rankings, whereas the first eight teams within a certain cut-off time will book an automatic berth.

    Skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz said that they will have an eye on qualifications but don’t want to get caught up in that.

    Ishan Kishan will take the injured Tilak Varma's place in India's line-up in the first T20I against New Zealand on Wednesday. Confirming this in the captain's press conference in Nagpur, Suryakumar Yadav said India were playing Kishan ahead of Shreyas Iyer, the other candidate for the role, keeping preparations for the T20 World Cup in mind.
