Potential Spoiler On Big Royal Rumble Debut

Powerhouse Hobbs has been in news in recent weeks with his decision to leave AEW despite a huge offer from Tony Khan. While nothing has been made official yet, he's believed to be set for his WWE debut soon with heavy speculations on how the company will choose to introduce him.

Now Fightful Select has provided a big update on the matter. According to them, Hobbs is actually scheduled to be in Saudi Arabia during the Royal Rumble weekend. Though he has not travelled with the rest of the crew as the officials most likely want to keep him hidden till the right moment.

AEW made a ‘much higher than expected’ offer to keep Powerhouse Hobbs

Powerhouse Hobbs received a big offer from AEW to remain in the company.

Dave Meltzer addressed Hobbs leaving AEW and signing with WWE in Friday’s edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, available now for subscribers. Meltzer wrote that AEW’s offer to Hobbs was much higher than expected and later compared it to deals signed by top stars in recent years.

“He got a great AEW offer to stay but I don’t know his WWE offer. The AEW offer was much higher than I would have expected. It would have been a number that I believe would have been higher than anyone but Chris Jericho earned in AEW’s first year in 2019.”

In the promo for Wednesday night’s premiere of ABC news satire Always Was Tonight, host Tony Armstrong promised comedy that was “black, cracked and risking the sack”. He delivered.

The 30-minute special, timed around January 26, ran hard at targets such as Sky News (“announcing a rival to triple J called triple K”), mining magnate Gina Rinehart (“owner of Australia’s biggest hole”) and the ABC itself.

“It’s an honour to be the first black face fronting an ABC comedy show since Chris Lilley,” Armstrong said, opening the show. In character as the ambassador for White Australia, Bjorn Stewart (Black Comedy) later joked about examples of a “white corroboree” including “Adelaide Writers Festival” and an “ABC staff meeting”.

Big Bash rising stars earn Aussie call-ups to face Pakistan

Australia have named a 17-player squad to tour Pakistan for three T20Is in the lead up to the World Cup

Injured trio Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Tim David will have extra time to build up their fitness ahead of the T20 World Cup with the group to skip Australia's whirlwind tour of Pakistan in the lead up to the tournament.

Selectors today announced a 17-player touring party to face Pakistan in three T20 internationals in Lahore, with Big Bash performances seeing some fresh faces injected into the national set-up, including emerging Perth Scorchers speedster Mahli Beardman and Sydney Sixers young gun Jack Edwards.

    Sixers Stars Earn T20I Selection

Sydney Sixers stalwarts Josh Philippe, Ben Dwarshuis, Sean Abbott and Jack Edwards have earned selection in the Australian Men’s T20 International squad to face Pakistan in Lahore — a key series ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India & Sri Lanka.

The quartet’s inclusion reflects their strong recent form for the Sixers and in domestic cricket.

New South Wales Blues captain Jack Edwards will receive his first Australian T20I squad call-up for the Pakistan series.

The 24-year-old paceman has developed into a reliable all-rounder with the Blues and the Sixers, leading NSW consistently in domestic competitions this season and earning national selectors’ attention.

'Absolutely bizarre' moment in Big Bash game as wrong gloves handed to Brisbane Heat batter

There's very rarely a dull moment in the Big Bash and that was proven to be true once again on Monday night during the Brisbane Heat's game against the Sydney Sixers.

During the first innings in Coffs Harbour, young gun batter Hugh Weibgen was at the crease when seventh wicket fell, bringing spinner Matt Kuhnemann to the crease.

As the new batter was making his way out, Weibgen asked for a fresh set of gloves to be brought out to the middle for him to change mid-innings.

However, once the Sixers were ready to continue bowling and Kuhnemann was out there ready to mark centre, Weibgen had to stop play and signalled to the Heat dugout.

Brisbane Heat young gun Hugh Weibgen went from hero to zero on Friday night and it wasn't the only piece of drama in an entertaining Big Bash game.

The 21-year-old made a spectacular diving effort on the boundary after Melbourne Stars batter Sam Harper hit it into the deep.

He plucked the ball out of the air with one arm, but his momentum dragged him to the rope as he hit the turf and the umpire signalled six runs.

39 Thoughts I Had While Watching the Season 1 Finale of Heated Rivalry

I love any excuse to make the Yuletide gay, and given my traditional Christmas rewatch of Todd Haynes’s 2015 film Carol was weeks ago at this point, I was thrilled to learn that the season finale of Canada’s gay hockey sensation Heated Rivalry lined up perfectly with my glut of plan-free post-holiday TV time.

So, where did the end of the season find Ilya, Shane, Scott, Kip, et cetera? Below, find absolutely every thought I had about Season 1, Episode 6 of Heated Rivalry, enticingly titled “The Cottage”:

On a Thursday night in December, the stars of Heated Rivalry walked into the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. The occasion was an industry party the two men would not have been invited to just a few weeks ago, held at a hotel that would have likely turned them away. But then their smutty, NSFW drama about two closeted pro hockey players became a surprise hit on HBO Max. So Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams were welcomed inside like royalty—two smooth-chested crown princes mingling with Baz Luhrmann, Vicky Krieps, and the cast of The Pitt.
