Marvel’s new X-Men, a 3D Bluey movie and a Frozen sequel: Disney unveils new projects
A 3D animated movie for Bluey, a reboot for the X-Men franchise, sequels for The Incredibles, Frozen and Zootopia, a sneak peek of Avengers: Doomsday and a major new Star Wars film are among the new projects unveiled by Disney at the studio’s biennial entertainment showcase in Los Angeles.
The studio unveiled its coming movie and streaming television plans to a captive audience of some 12,000 diehard fans at the Honda Centre stadium in Anaheim, California. Most are part of the larger crowd of more than 100,000 attending the company’s fan convention, D23, held every two years.
Disney confirmed the original Star Wars film, released back in 1977, would return to cinemas next year to mark its 50th anniversary. In a big year for the franchise, a second season of Ahsoka, the live-action television spin-off of the Star Wars animated universe, will also premiere on Disney+.

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event brought a lot of surprises and first looks of what the entertainment company is preparing in the following months and years.
Taking place over three days in Anaheim, California, Disney kicked off the weekend with a showcase that teased what is to come and updates from Avengers: Doomsday, the Star Wars franchise, the new X-Men cast, a teaser for the new season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians as well as first looks at the live-action Tangled adaptation, Coco 2, Oswald and The Bluey Movie, among many others.
