    Daredevil Born Again Season 2 review — 'hits the bullseye'

    The construction of Daredevil: Born Again’s first season was infamously Frankensteinian. A creative overhaul mid-production — complete with new writers and stronger ties to Daredevil’s Netflix incarnation — was the right call, but it left a patchy, incomplete residue in its wake. With its sophomore effort, returning showrunner Dario Scardapane has the benefit of presenting one unified vision from beginning to end. The result is a season that’s not only better than its immediate predecessor, but in some ways as good as Daredevil has ever been on screen.

    As ever, the biggest reasons for that are Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. As Daredevil — now clad in a black-and-red suit, with comics-accurate interlocking Ds — and Fisk, they routinely plumb the depths of their characters’ emotions, even when the writing is broadly familiar.

    Canberra's life without Jamal Fogarty has started in astonishing fashion, with new No.7 Ethan Sanders scoring a field goal to win a golden point thriller against Manly.

    After a late Sea Eagles flurry forced the contest at Brookvale Oval to extra time, 22-year-old Sanders needed just one attempt to seal the 29-28 round one win.

    Fogarty, in his Manly debut against his former team, had forced golden point with the last kick of normal time after Canberra players were ruled offside on his two-point field goal attempt.

    Stuart backs 'courageous' Sanders ahead of Manly test

    Ricky Stuart has praised the "courageous" call Ethan Sanders made, which the coach says will set him up for a long and successful career.

    Sanders will play his first game in Canberra's starting halfback role when the Raiders take on Manly on Saturday night in Brookvale.

    The 22-year-old has been hot on the tongue of pundits in the offseason after he was parachuted into the No.7 jersey, having played just four NRL games.

    How he will fill the shoes of the departed Jamal Fogarty, whose booming kicks and playmaking skills powered the Raiders to a first minor premiership since 1990 last year, will be one to watch.

    A “miracle” Nebraska woman born without a brain defied the odds as her family marked her 20th birthday — decades after parents were told she’d never make it to 5, reports said.

    Simpson’s parents had been told she was a healthy child until a check-up two months later revealed that their daughter had hydranencephaly — a rare condition that left her with just a pinky’s worth of brain matter at the base of her skull, the report said.

    At the time, the Nebraska family were told Alex wouldn’t live past 4 years old.

    “Twenty years ago we were scared, but faith, I think, is really what kept us alive,” Shawn Simpson, Alex’s father, told the TV station.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KETV/CNN NEWSOURCE/WKRC) — A Nebraska family is celebrating a milestone once thought impossible as their daughter, Alex Simpson, defies the odds 20 years after being diagnosed with hydranencephaly — a rare condition that left her born with almost no brain.

    Her parents, Lorena and Shawn Simpson, said they still remember the day doctors delivered the devastating news.

    “Doctor Davey came in with his nurses and said, ‘You guys need to sit down. This is pretty serious,’” they recalled.

    At the time, they were told Alex likely wouldn’t live past the age of four. But on Nov. 4, Alex celebrated her 20th birthday — a milestone her family calls nothing short of miraculous.
