The French government agency that handles the issuing and management of citizens’ identity documents, including national IDs, passports, and immigration documents, confirmed Wednesday that it experienced a data breach.

In an announcement, the Agence Nationale des Titres Sécurisés (ANTS) said the data stolen in the breach could include full names, dates and places of birth, mailing and email addresses, and phone numbers on an undisclosed number of citizens. ANTS said the investigation to determine how the breach happened and its impact is ongoing, and people whose data was affected are being notified.

ANTS France data leak: up to 12 million people affected

The personal data of around 12 million people in France may have been compromised during a recent security breach of the ANTS website, the Interior Ministry has said.

ANTS is used for many document requests and processes in France, including driving licences, passports, as well as ID and residency cards.

The ministry announced earlier this week that a security breach had been identified at the official document agency (Agence nationale des titres sécurisés, known as ANTS or France Titres).

In an update on Tuesday evening, it confirmed that data of around 12 million accounts may have been taken. Investigations into the matter are still ongoing.

Breach Notices – Salary cap and team selection protocols

The National Rugby League (NRL) has today issued breach notices to the Sydney Roosters in relation to salary cap overspend and the Melbourne Storm in relation to team selection protocols.

The details of the breaches and proposed sanctions are as follows:

The NRL Salary Cap Auditor has found that Sydney Roosters spent $38,356 over the 2024 Supplementary List and Training Wage Salary Cap.

While the breach is at the lower end of the scale, it is proposed that the Club will be issued with a fine of $36,070, which reflects the balance of the Club’s Supplementary List and Training Wage overspend when applied against an underspend with respect to its Top 30 Salary Cap calculation in 2024.

On a day when the NRL announced, in quick succession, multiple breaches, the Roosters and Melbourne Storm were both informed they have cases to answer for different matters.
