This season of Married At First Sight (MAFS) has already been a whirlwind, but few expected bride Brook Crompton to announce her pregnancy before the show had even finished airing.

Brook Crompton’s jilted groom Chris Nield has broken his silence on her rekindled relationship with her ex after it was announced she was expecting a baby.

After leaving the experiment two weeks in, Crompton reunited with her ex-partner Harry and quickly fell pregnant,
becoming engaged on Christmas last year.

Nield told the Daily Mail in November he just didn’t “think she was in the right place for a new relationship to form”, and said there were “no ill wishes” between the two.

MAFS bride Brook's bombshell pregnancy announcement that's left groom Chris 'blindsided'

Married At First Sight is dealing with one hell of a bombshell announcement, with 2026 bride Brook Crompton announcing she's pregnant. But it's not with her on-screen groom, Chris, with whom she's having the baby with.

The 27-year-old Gold Coast model has revealed to Woman's Day that not only is she expecting a child with her ex-partner, 28-year-old builder Harry, but he's also popped the question. The pair got engaged on Christmas Day while they were in Aspen, Colorado.

“I genuinely wasn’t expecting it,” Brook told the outlet. “I thought maybe he’d propose after we had the baby.”

Matt Roller reacts to Brendon McCullum's suggestion that criticism of Harry Brook's nightclub incident is becoming annoying (2:13)

As the scrutiny about his actions on the night of October 31 in Wellington continues, England white-ball captain Harry Brook has admitted it has "not been a very nice time", and at times, "pretty horrendous".

Brook said that the incident, first reported by the Telegraph on the last day of the Ashes in January, has taught him that as a captain, he cannot take responsibility "lightly" and that he has to be switched on all the time.

‘Not been easy’: England captain spills on ‘horrendous’ fallout from nightclub altercation

England white-ball captain Harry Brook has confessed the fallout from his nightclub altercation has been “horrendous”, hoping to put the ordeal behind him after the T20 World Cup.

Last month, it was revealed that Brook had been sanctioned for an altercation with a nightclub bouncer the evening before an ODI match against New Zealand in Wellington.

Later, the 26-year-old copped some backlash after he celebrated an ODI century in Colombo with the beer‑smash gesture that was popularised by WWE star ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

England coach Brendon McCullum has since hit back at accusations of a drinking culture within the national side, labelling the criticism of his team a “pile-on”, while Brook admitted the ongoing media scrutiny has been “pretty horrendous”.

T20 World Cup: England captain Harry Brook says time in spotlight has been 'horrendous'

Harry Brook took over as England white-ball captain at the start of last summer

England captain Harry Brook admitted recent weeks have been "pretty horrendous" after the controversy surrounding his visit to a Wellington nightclub – but now hopes to move on from the situation.

Brook's England begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Nepal in Mumbai on Sunday, but their build-up has been overshadowed by Brook's situation.

It emerged in early January the 26-year-old had been "clocked" by a nightclub bouncer the night before captaining England against New Zealand in November, and last week Brook admitted he lied to the media when denying other players were present.

England player Harry Brook has apologised following an incident at a Wellington nightclub in October.

The Test vice-captain was struck by a bouncer the night before a one-day international match against New Zealand.

He was fined $60,000 by the team's board and put on a final warning about his behaviour.

Harry Brook has publicly apologised for bringing "embarrassment" to the English cricket team in a scuffle at a New Zealand nightclub shortly before the Ashes.

Brook was struck by a bouncer after being refused entry to a Wellington nightclub on October 31, just hours before captaining the English team in a one-day international, the UK's Telegraph has reported.

Bazball down under ended on another bum note, as England lost for the fourth time out of five – and despite a sparkling maiden hundred from Jacob Bethell. No sooner had Australia been presented with the trophy, than news emerged regarding Harry Brook's misdemeanours in New Zealand. On a bumper edition of the pod, Alan Gardner hears from Andrew Miller and Andrew McGlashan about a chaotic end to a chaotic tour. Can England draw anything positive from their performance in Sydney? Should Brendon McCullum (or Rob Key) carry the can for England's failures? And is it too soon to start talking about the 2027 Ashes…?

The Ashes: England cricket concern over culture and drinking

McCullum (left), Stokes and Brook have been England's leadership team since the Yorkshire batter (right) was made Test vice-captain in September

Australia are a better cricket team than England, especially in Australia. Twenty-seven Australia wins in 35 Ashes Tests in this country since the turn of the century tells a conclusive story.

No, the feelings of bewilderment, dismay and downright anger come from yet another Ashes tour with concerns over England cricketers and whether there is a problematic drinking culture.

Eight years ago, Jonny Bairstow was lampooned in the Australian media for a 'headbutt' to home opener Cameron Bancroft in a Perth bar. On the same trip Ben Duckett, then with the England Lions, was punished for pouring a drink over James Anderson.

Harry Brook’s moment of madness a fitting epitaph for England’s flawed cult of Baz | Barney Ronay

The day was transformed in Australia’s favour by the batter’s failed swish, a perfect demonstration of talent being wasted and Test matches squandered

Tough on Harry Brook, yes. But we must also be tough on the causes of Harry Brook. No child is born playing performative reverse-hoicks with a Test match to be saved, just as most acts of cult-like behaviour have their roots in a smooth-talking cult-like instructor.

For England the beginning of the end of the age of Baz started when the disciples of Baz began to deny such a thing even existed; to insist that the buckle-up-and-enjoy-the-ride stuff didn’t actually exist at all, but was instead a creation of another, much worse cult, also known in this world as “the outside”.

'What's he done?' – Lyon bowls Brook after reverse sweep attempt missed

He has often claimed to be oblivious to criticism that has come his way throughout his England career.

It might have been for his own good if England team-mate Harry Brook's passwords were changed before he got back to his Adelaide hotel room on Saturday night.

His dismissal after tea, bowled attempting a reverse sweep to off-spinner Nathan Lyon, was not pretty.

It opened the door for Lyon, who twirled out two more England batters to take Australia to the brink of an Ashes series win that has looked inevitable for some time with the tourists now 207-6.

The Ashes: Zak Crawley says Harry Brook's third Test dismissal would not be criticised by anyone in England camp

England are on the brink of Ashes series defeat with Australia needing just four wickets to win the third Test; Harry Brook was bowled by Nathan Lyon when attempting a reverse sweep against the Australia spinner

Zak Crawley says no one in the group would ever criticise the nature of his England team-mate Harry Brook's dismissal after the batter was out reverse sweeping in the third Ashes Test.

England slipped to the brink of a series defeat on Saturday as they finished the fourth day in Adelaide on 207-6 in their second innings, still needing 228 more runs to pull off a record chase of 435 to win.
