'Have they brought value?': McIlroy fires shot at returning LIV Golf stars

Rory McIlroy has fired a thinly veiled shot at some of LIV Golf's biggest names who may seek to return to the PGA Tour.

McIlroy said: "I would argue, have they brought value to LIV?"

LIV Golf has secured a funder, but it remains unclear whether the likes of Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Cameron Smith will stay with the rebel circuit or return to the PGA Tour.

Masters champion Rory McIlroy believes it could be a "tough road back" for LIV Golf players who may be eyeing a return to the PGA Tour and questioned what value they would even offer the US-based circuit.

Judge dismisses lawsuit brought by author Michael Wolff against Melania Trump

Wolff’s suit aimed to head off billion-dollar legal action brought by first lady over statements linking her to Epstein

Melania Trump has won the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by author Michael Wolff designed to head off a billion-dollar defamation action brought by the first lady over statements he made in the media.

The US district judge Mary Kay Vyskocil said that Wolff’s claim against Trump under anti-Slapp statutes, which are designed to allow defendants to quickly dismiss meritless, intimidating lawsuits, was “preemptive” and presented in a “somewhat contorted posture”.

In a 45-page ruling, Vyskocil said the “plaintiff asks for a declaration that, if the first lady sues him, he deserves to win. That is not how the federal courts work.”

âWe knew from the beginning when we drew a Trump judge in federal court, in the Southern District in New York, that that was problematic,â Wolff told co-host Joanna Coles. âI think our attitude was, âOK, you know, thatâs the hand we drew.ââ

BREAKING: At least 2 people shot near the White House, officials say

A judge threw out author Michael Wolff’s lawsuit against first lady Melania Trump on Friday, ruling that his “contorted” attempt to prevent her from suing him for $1 billion over his statements about her and Jeffrey Epstein “is not how the federal courts work.”

Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil in federal court in Manhattan chided Wolff for an “inappropriate level of tactical gamesmanship” and said she “will not be conscripted to oversee an abusively presented spat.”

Vyskocil, who was appointed by President Donald Trump, agreed that Wolff and the first lady “have a real dispute,” but said “they must litigate it according to the same procedures as everyone else.”
