Knicks 105-99 Bulls (23 Feb, 2026) Game Recap

CHICAGO — — Karl-Anthony Towns had 28 points and 11 rebounds for his NBA-leading 39th double-double and the New York Knicks outlasted the sliding Chicago Bulls 105-99 on Sunday night for their second straight victory.

Towns scored six straight points — on a 3-pointer, a layup and free throw — after Chicago took a 95-94 lead with 3:52 left in regulation on Matas Buzelis' 3. Mikal Bridges hit another 3-pointer with 27 seconds left, and Jalen Brunson iced it with two free throws.

Brunson had 19 points and nine assists to help New York deal the Bulls a ninth straight loss, their longest skid since a 10-game slide in January 2019.

New York Knicks at Chicago Bulls – Starting Lineups, Injury News, How to Watch

The new-look Chicago Bulls will continue a tough schedule on Sunday night.

As if the backend of a back-to-back wasn't bad enough, Billy Donovan's squad will have to try to keep up with the third-best team in the East. The New York Knicks currently hold a Top 5 net rating thanks to their incredibly balanced starting lineup. Jalen Brunson has been on an absolute tear, averaging upwards of 27.0 points a night on excellent efficiency. Karl-Anthony Towns has also started to find his rhythm after a sluggish start to the year, dropping 20+ in four straight games.

To be clear, this Knicks team isn't unbeatable. They continue to have some problems when it comes to their depth, and they can rely a little too heavily on the three-ball at times. But do the Bulls have what it takes to take advantage of those deficiencies? It sure hasn't looked like it over the last couple of weeks!

Rockets 119, Bulls 113: Bulls fall short despite Tre Jones’ career night

The Chicago Bulls had every chance to eke out a win against the Houston Rockets, but lost their chance late, ultimately losing 119-113.

Josh Giddey (hamstring), Coby White (calf injury management) and Zach Collins (toe) remained out, but that didn’t seem to affect the Bulls in the slightest. For all they add to the Bulls’ offense, their penchant for producing turnovers can be costly. Led by Tre Jones‘ career-high with 34 points, plus seven assists to two turnovers, the Bulls were able to hang with, and in some cases even beat out the Rockets in the four factors.

The Bulls did an excellent job keeping the Rockets, who own the highest offensive rebounding rate of all time, to 12 offensive rebounds and 15 second-chance points. That’s still too many against most teams, but the Bulls actually outrebounded them on the offensive glass, with 14 and 17 second-chance points.

Chicago Bulls at Houston Rockets – Starting Lineups, Injury News, How to Watch

Can the Chicago Bulls pick up a second straight victory over a team from the Lone Star State?

This squad looked a lot more like its early-season self against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night. The Bulls finished with seven players in double figures for a 125-107 victory, and they also destroyed in the open floor with a staggering 38 points in the fastbreak!

On the one hand, there is a chance for them to find similar success tonight against a Rockets team that turns the ball over more than anyone in the NBA. On the other hand, Houston is considered a title contender for a reason. While they have faced some struggles in recent weeks, Kevin Durant and Company are a scary matchup for most teams. Not only do they dominate on the offensive glass with Alperen Sengun and Steven Adams, but they have multiple young wings who can help shut down opposing scorers.

Bulls vs Hornets injury report: Ayo Dosunmu, Coby White, LaMelo Ball, and more

It’s been almost a week since the Chicago Bulls last took the court—a 123–91 loss to a shorthanded Golden State Warriors team. But like their opponent, Chicago wasn’t fully healthy heading into the matchup either.

Against Golden State, Chicago was without Kevin Huerter, Tre Jones, Isaac Okoro, and Jalen Smith. After five days of rest, three of those four are set to return. Jones, Okoro, and Smith will rejoin Billy Donovan’s rotation after absences of three, eight, and five games, respectively.

Huerter is the only Bull, aside from Noa Essengue, who will miss a second straight game due to injury. He suffered an adductor strain just six minutes into the December 1 matchup against the Orlando Magic. The 6-foot-7 wing didn’t travel with the team to Charlotte, joining Ayo Dosunmu as one of the players who remained in Chicago.
