ESPN is coming to the defense of Pat McAfee after the multimedia superstar voiced his frustration with the University of Utah.

McAfee didn’t appreciate videos showing students “talking trash” about him as a “corny” shirt-ripping clown. Not to mention the student in his kicking contest complaining she stood to earn “only” $1 million vs. another student who won $3 million on Oct. 17. She missed all three tries—but McAfee seemed annoyed by her attitude.

On his eponymous show Monday, McAfee doubled down, saying he “never felt more uncomfortable” as he did at the University of Utah Saturday. Specifically, he called out the school for mocking him on its main instagram account while he was about to shoot essentially an “info-mercial” for the university. McAfee then alluded to the assasination of political activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University in September 2025. He doesn’t plan to return to the campus in Salt Lake City with GameDay.

The proposed livestream of Nidal Hasan’s execution by a U.S. military firing squad gave an old question a new audience. Hasan, an Army psychiatrist convicted by a military court of killing 13 people at Fort Hood in Texas in 2009, is scheduled to be executed on Dec. 3, 2026.

Explaining the plan to make his death public, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that “people need to understand … there’s serious consequences for these types of things.”

But on Oct. 15, 2026, President Donald Trump announced in a social media post that Hasan’s execution would not be livestreamed, after the plan drew widespread public objections from both Republicans and Democrats.

Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir made the statement while speaking to a former Gaza-held hostage, Rom Braslavski, on Braslavski’s podcast.
