‘High School Musical 3’ Star Matt Prokop Charged With Possession of Child Pornography: Report

Highschool Musical 3 star Matt Prokop is facing child pornography charges after being arrested for allegedly violating conditions of his bond from a 2024 arrest.

Prokop, 35, was taken into custody by the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office in Texas on December 24, according to TMZ. He’s been charged with one count of a violation of bond, two counts of resisting arrest, search or transportation, one count of evading arrest or detention and a second-degree felony count of possession of child pornography.

He is currently in the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office Jail awaiting his next court date.

Prior to his arrest, Prokop was known for playing East High freshman Jimmie “The Rocketman” Zara in Disney’s High School Musical 3. He also had a number of roles in other family movies and shows, including Geek Charming, Modern Family and Furry Vengeance. However, he has not had an acting role since 2013, according to his IMDb.

Victoria native and former Disney star jailed for bond violation

A Victoria native and former Disney Channel actor was arrested late last month after authorities said he violated bond conditions tied to charges filed in 2024.

According to the Victoria Police Department, 35-year-old Matthew Prokop was taken into custody Dec. 24 after officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Milam Street to investigate a reported bond violation. Police said Prokop had been out on bond stemming from a 2024 arrest on charges of resisting arrest and aggravated assault of a family member.

Investigators determined Prokop had violated the terms of his bond and attempted to take him into custody. During the arrest, police said Prokop evaded officers and resisted arrest. He was subsequently arrested on charges of violation of bond conditions, evading arrest and resisting arrest.

Woman and child killed in Bruce Highway truck crash

A woman and a young child have been killed in a truck crash on the Bruce Highway north of Rockhampton.

Two trucks collided on the corner of Raspberry Creek Road and Kunwarara Road in the Canoona area at 10:40pm on Wednesday.

The passengers in one of the vehicles, a toddler and a woman in her 20s, died at the scene.

The driver, aged in his 20s, sustained significant life-threatening injuries and was flown to Rockhampton hospital.

The driver of the second truck, a man in his 30s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Rockhampton hospital.

Queensland Fire Department also attended the scene as a fire broke out when the trucks collided.

A motorbike rider is in a “life-threatening” condition after a crash with a truck on the Bruce Highway north of Brisbane.

The accident was near Dohles Rock Road at Murrumba Downs about 5.45am.

A Queensland Traffic spokesperson said road users travelling south should expect long delays.
