The grand
final has been played exclusively at Sydney’s Olympic stadium since 1999, with the exception of 2021, when Covid-19 restrictions in New South Wales forced the match to be relocated to Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.
The decider is traditionally played on the first Sunday of October, which coincides with the start of daylight saving, with Labour Day held the following day.
