    Introducing Claude Opus 4.7

Opus 4.7 is a notable improvement on Opus 4.6 in advanced software engineering, with particular gains on the most difficult tasks. Users report being able to hand off their hardest coding work—the kind that previously needed close supervision—to Opus 4.7 with confidence. Opus 4.7 handles complex, long-running tasks with rigor and consistency, pays precise attention to instructions, and devises ways to verify its own outputs before reporting back.

The model also has substantially better vision: it can see images in greater resolution. It’s more tasteful and creative when completing professional tasks, producing higher-quality interfaces, slides, and docs. And—although it is less broadly capable than our most powerful model, Claude Mythos Preview—it shows better results than Opus 4.6 across a range of benchmarks:

Claude Opus 4.7 is generally available

Claude Opus 4.7, Anthropic’s latest Opus model, is now rolling out on GitHub Copilot. In our early testing, Opus 4.7 delivers stronger multi-step task performance and more reliable agentic execution, building on the coding strategy strengths of its predecessor. It also shows meaningful improvement in long-horizon reasoning and complex, tool-dependent workflows.

As part of our efforts to improve service reliability, we are streamlining our model offerings. Over the coming weeks, Opus 4.7 will replace Opus 4.5 and Opus 4.6 in the model picker for Copilot Pro+. We’ve seen strong improvements across our benchmarks, and we’re committed to providing individual users with state-of-the-art models while ensuring a fast, reliable Copilot experience.

Anthropic leaks part of Claude Code's internal source code

Anthropic leaked part of the internal source code for its popular artificial intelligence coding assistant, Claude Code, the company confirmed on Tuesday.

"No sensitive customer data or credentials were involved or exposed," an Anthropic spokesperson said in a statement. "This was a release packaging issue caused by human error, not a security breach. We're rolling out measures to prevent this from happening again."

A source code leak is a blow to the startup, as it could help give software developers, and Anthropic's competitors, insight into how it built its viral coding tool. A post on X with a link to Anthropic's code has amassed more than 21 million views since it was shared at 4:23 a.m. ET on Tuesday.

Anthropic leaks its own AI coding tool’s source code in second major security breach

Anthropic has accidentally leaked the source code for its popular coding tool Claude Code.

The leak comes just days after Fortune reported that the company had inadvertently made close to 3,000 files publicly available, including a draft blog post that detailed a powerful upcoming model that presents unprecedented cybersecurity risks. The model is known internally as both “Mythos” and “Capybara,” according to the leaked blog post obtained by Fortune. The source code leak exposed around 500,000 lines of code across roughly 1,900 files. When reached for comment, Anthropic confirmed that “some internal source code” had been leaked within a “Claude Code release.”

A spokesperson said: “No sensitive customer data or credentials were involved or exposed. This was a release packaging issue caused by human error, not a security breach. We’re rolling out measures to prevent this from happening again.”

Anthropic updates Claude Cowork tool built to give the average office worker a productivity boost

Anthropic's Claude Cowork, which rocked Wall Street last month, is getting a wider release.

The artificial intelligence startup launched a series of connectors and plugins for the knowledge worker tool on Tuesday that enterprises can use to help "turbo charge" the capabilities of individual employees.

Anthropic launched Claude Cowork in a research capacity last month, rattling software stocks as investors grappled with AI's disruptive potential. The company said Claude Cowork's new updates mark its transition into a true enterprise-grade product.

Starting Tuesday, organizations will be able to connect Claude Cowork to their existing tools like Google Drive, Gmail, DocuSign and FactSet. They can also deploy customizable plugins across domains like financial analysis, engineering and human resources that encode institutional knowledge and workflows, Anthropic said.

On Tuesday, Anthropic unveiled its new enterprise agents program, its most aggressive push yet to integrate agentic AI into everyday workplaces.

In an official briefing, Anthropic’s head of Americas, Kate Jensen, told reporters that the new system would finally deliver on the promise of agentic AI. “2025 was meant to be the year agents transformed the enterprise, but the hype turned out to be mostly premature,” Jensen said. “It wasn’t a failure of effort. It was a failure of approach.”

    Introducing Claude Opus 4.6

The new Claude Opus 4.6 improves on its predecessor’s coding skills. It plans more carefully, sustains agentic tasks for longer, can operate more reliably in larger codebases, and has better code review and debugging skills to catch its own mistakes. And, in a first for our Opus-class models, Opus 4.6 features a 1M token context window in beta.

Opus 4.6 can also apply its improved abilities to a range of everyday work tasks: running financial analyses, doing research, and using and creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Within Cowork, where Claude can multitask autonomously, Opus 4.6 can put all these skills to work on your behalf.

The AI that spooked the stock market just got a big update

Anthropic’s Cowork AI assistant sent shockwaves through Wall Street this week. Now Anthropic is taking another leap forward, improving its model.

Anthropic’s new Claude Opus 4.6 model, announced Thursday, is designed to make Cowork AI better for office and coding work, potentially raising even more concerns that the AI tool could replace specialized software packages that companies use for those tasks.

Legal and financial analysis software stocks have plunged in recent days, bringing the broader stock market down with them. The Nasdaq just had its worst two-day tumble since April, and it’s down another 0.7% Thursday.

Many experts wonder whether AI will ultimately cost some workers their jobs. Tech giants like Anthropic, OpenAI and Google are locked in a race to build AI models that they hope will underpin the future workplace.

Anthropic's New Claude Cowork Is an AI Agent for Your Computer's Files

Cowork can also use the data in that folder to create new projects — but it's still in early access, so be cautious.

Cowork is a Claude Code assistant that can work on larger projects, tapping into a specific folder on a computer.

Claude Cowork is a new feature that taps into a user's computer folder to either modify it or create new projects with the data, Anthropic said in a blog post on Monday. Cowork is currently only available to MacOS users with a $100/month Claude Max subscription.

Cowork works by having users give Claude access to a computer folder. Once in, users can then chat with Claude and have it organize all the files, rename items to match a specific naming convention or read the files inside to create spreadsheets or other documents. For example, if a user has a folder with a bunch of receipts, Cowork can organize all the files and create a spreadsheet listing all the expenses.

Fun Fact: Claude Cowork Was Built in Just 14 Days Using… Claude Code !

The technology landscape is undergoing a transformation driven by artificial intelligence, with new tools redefining traditional workflows at a remarkable pace. Among these innovations, the unprecedented speed and automation offered by next-generation code generation platforms are particularly noteworthy.

A striking example is Claude Cowork, an application developed in under two weeks—not through months of manual programming, but by harnessing the capabilities of the AI-powered assistant Claude Code.

This article delves into how such powerful AI solutions are reshaping real-world software development, accelerating both project velocity and innovation opportunities for teams worldwide.

Traditionally, launching a robust application requires extensive cycles of design, prototyping, programming, and rigorous testing. In the case of Claude Cowork, this sequence was dramatically streamlined by using artificial intelligence as the primary engine for generating code.
