UFC Vegas 115: Renato Moicano vs. Chris Duncan continues on the prelims with a fight between Alessandro Costa and Stewart Nicoll in the flyweight division on Saturday. Check out our UFC odds series for our Costa-Nicoll prediction and pick.

Alessandro Costa (14-5) aims to bounce back from a disappointing TKO loss to Alden Coria last September. That tough defeat followed a spectacular second-round knockout victory over Kevin Borjas, making redemption his ultimate goal as he comes into his fight this weekend against Stewart Nicoll.

UFC Vegas 115: Alessandro Costa vs. Stewart Nicoll Predictions & Odds

Flyweight contenders Alessandro Costa and Stewart Nicoll are set to meet in the prelims of the UFC Vegas 115 card Saturday inside the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

Both have lost their previous bouts inside the octagon, but Costa still heads into the clash as the betting favorite with -450 UFC odds, while Nicoll is going to be the +325 betting underdog.

Costa’s speed and explosiveness are why I predict a unanimous decision win for him. Costa’s athleticism and footwork will allow him to land the more damaging strikes in most of the exchanges on the feet.

Costa also has an aggressive style that puts his opponents on the back foot. But the Brazilian doesn’t need to worry about pressuring Nicoll because he prefers fighting on the back foot, because he wants to be the counterpuncher.

UFC Houston video: Melquizael Costa stops Dan Ige with devastating spinning kick

The skyrocket to the top continued Saturday at UFC Fight Night 267 when Costa (26-7 MMA, 7-2 UFC) became the first man to stop Dan Ige (19-11 MMA, 11-10 UFC) with a spinning back kick and punches at 4:56 of Round 1. The bout took place at Toyota Center in Houston.

Costa beautifully timed a spinning kick to the face of Ige just after the 10-second clacker hit. Ige dipped right into it and shot backward on the canvas as he covered up. Costa pounced and pounded away until referee Jacob Montalvo stepped in.

Melquizael Costa explains how being a popsicle seller taught him not to ask for UFC White House fight

Melquizael Costa grew up selling popsicles in the streets of Porto de Moz, Brazil, before starting a career in martial arts. Now fighting in the UFC, “The Dalmatian” looks back at the lessons learned on those early days as to why he shouldn’t ask for a spot on the historic UFC White House card.

Costa is making a name for himself in the featherweight division with five straight victories in the UFC, going 4-0 in 2025 alone, and booked his first assignment for the year against ranked 145-pound veteran Dan Ige at Saturday’s UFC Houston. Costa calls the Ige fight “the people’s main event,” and a win should open the door for much bigger opportunities next.
