    Crimson Desert Developers Add Intel Arc Support, New Skills, and Improved Gameplay – Update 1.03.00 Released

    The authors of Crimson Desert continue to refine the game and fix bugs.

    Crimson Desert developers have released update 1.03.00, focusing on expanding the combat system and improving the convenience of exploration, especially when playing as secondary characters.

    In the update, Damian and Unka received new skills, including "Axiom Power" and "Veil of Wind," and their abilities now partially duplicate Cliff's key mechanics. This allows for freer exploration of the world with these characters, without fear of lacking the abilities to solve puzzles and other tasks. Cliff himself also acquired a new ability, "Raven's Air Strike."

    Fast travel is now available at almost any moment outside of combat, including while riding, falling, swimming, or climbing. This speeds up exploration and reduces the number of unnecessary actions when moving around the world.

    "It's unplayable": Reviewers criticize the console version of Crimson Desert

    Recent graphical improvements in Crimson Desert for PS5 have proven insufficient. The game suffers from frame rate issues, especially after adding FSR to the "60 FPS" mode. The publisher did not send out console copies before release, so for a long time, only reviews of the PC version were available online.

    The PushSquare editorial team even refused to review the PC version, buying the game on PS5 for a fair test.

    The results are disappointing: the publication gave the game a 6/10. Among the main drawbacks:

    On the base PS5, the performance mode offers constant frame tearing and extremely blurry 1080p. In quality mode with 30 FPS, the picture is more stable, but the textures remain low quality. The situation is no better on PS5 Pro: in large camps, the frame rate drops below 20 FPS.

    Crimson Desert’s Puzzles Are Maddeningly Absurd

What begins as a simple attempt to “figure it out” becomes something far more consuming, as the game refuses to explain itself and instead watches, almost patiently, as you circle the answer without quite grasping it. There is no guiding hand here, no gentle nudge toward clarity. Only a world that expects you to wrestle meaning from it, no matter how long it takes.

    And yet, that resistance is exactly what makes it so hard to walk away. The puzzles do not exist as isolated challenges; they are woven into the fabric of progression itself, guarding powerful abilities, rare rewards, and even the path forward in the story. That means ignoring them is never truly an option. You either engage, or you stagnate. It creates a constant tension between admiration and irritation, where every breakthrough feels earned, but every dead end feels intentional. There are moments where the design feels almost cruel, and yet those same moments are the ones that linger long after the solution is found.
