    Marvel's best show of 2026 just ended with an utterly stupid twist

    Despite anti-Trump messages all season long, the finale ends with a pro-MAGA message

    Throughout this season of Daredevil: Born Again, the political parallels seemed clear. Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), as a temperamental New York businessman who rose to power through fear and intimidation, is an obvious stand-in for President Donald Trump. Despite protests from Charlie Cox that the similarities are “purely coincidental,” fans began spotting similarities during the first season of the Disney Plus series. This season, it’s only grown more obvious with Fisk’s command of his Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF), a rogue paramilitary force that is harassing both vigilantes and ordinary citizens on the streets of New York — a clear allegory for ICE.

    Daredevil Born Again Season 2 review — 'hits the bullseye'

    The construction of Daredevil: Born Again’s first season was infamously Frankensteinian. A creative overhaul mid-production — complete with new writers and stronger ties to Daredevil’s Netflix incarnation — was the right call, but it left a patchy, incomplete residue in its wake. With its sophomore effort, returning showrunner Dario Scardapane has the benefit of presenting one unified vision from beginning to end. The result is a season that’s not only better than its immediate predecessor, but in some ways as good as Daredevil has ever been on screen.

    As ever, the biggest reasons for that are Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. As Daredevil — now clad in a black-and-red suit, with comics-accurate interlocking Ds — and Fisk, they routinely plumb the depths of their characters’ emotions, even when the writing is broadly familiar.
