Zverev and Davidovich, the main protagonists of Sunday’s matches in Shanghai
A day of strong emotions will be experienced this Sunday, October 11, at the ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai 2026, with the third-round matches taking place in the upper part of the draw. There are beginning to be clashes among the seeded players, and media attention is focused on what Alexander Zverev can achieve, competing without the pressure of fighting for ranking goals and with the hope of adding what would be his first Masters 1000 of the season.
The German will face Quentin Halys in the first match of the night session, which starts at 12:00 PM in mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands, Ceuta, and Melilla. Subsequently, it will be Alejandro Davidovich's turn, the only Spanish player in action that day, who will measure forces against Frances Tiafoe in what is expected to be a significant test for the player from Málaga. He arrives with good momentum and hopes to achieve one of those victories that can act as a turning point in his career.

ATP Shanghai Day 5 Predictions Including Alexander Zverev vs Quentin Halys
ATP Shanghai is reaching the point where reputations count for less than what players can produce under pressure. Ben Shelton faces one of the tournament’s emerging French talents in Arthur Gea, while Hubert Hurkacz must deal with a home player who has already pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the week. Alexander Zverev and Frances Tiafoe also face tricky tests as the draw tightens. With a place in the last 16 on the line, there is little room for a slow start. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the schedule. But who will advance?
