Death in Paradise favourite's new crime drama finally releases in the UK very soon

It's been over a year since Saint-Pierre, the Canadian crime drama starring Death in Paradise's Florence star Joséphine Jobert, first aired on CBC, but now a release date has finally been confirmed for viewers in the UK.

The series, which also stars Jack Ryan's Allan Hawco, will officially premiere in the UK on U&Alibi on Wednesday 22 April 2026 at 9pm. (Alternatively, you can catch a repeat on the same channel at 8pm on the following night.)

In Canada, the series has already run for two seasons, but in the UK it will be starting from the very beginning, with the first episode introducing us to the central characters Donny 'Fitz' Fitzpatrick and Deputy Chief Geneviève 'Arch' Archambault.

Death in Paradise star's 'outstanding' drama is your next must-watch

Calling all Death in Paradise fans! Joséphine Jobert's French crime drama Saint-Pierre is finally coming to the UK – and viewers don't have long to wait until the gripping police series arrives on TV screens.

The detective drama, which also stars Allan Hawco (Jack Ryan), first premiered in Canada in January 2025 and aired a second season earlier this year. The story centres around two seasoned detectives forced to team up despite their very different policing styles.

Death in Paradise fans have been patiently waiting for the show to arrive in the UK. It marks the first time Joséphine has returned to British screens since her departure from Death in Paradise in 2024.

BBC Death in Paradise star's 'must watch' crime drama leaves fans 'obsessed'

Death in Paradise actress Joséphine Jobert's crime thriller Saint-Pierre is set to finally arrive on British screens a full year after its debut on Canadian broadcaster CBC.

The show, which also features Allan Hawco, known for his role in the Amazon Prime series Jack Ryan, will launch on U&Alibi on Thursday, 23 April at 8pm.

While Saint-Pierre has already completed two seasons in Canada, UK audiences will be starting from scratch, with the opening episode introducing viewers to the lead characters, Donny 'Fitz' Fitzpatrick, portrayed by Hawco, and Deputy Chief Geneviève 'Arch' Archambault, portrayed by Jobert.

WA Police homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman at a home in Perth's northern suburbs.

Police received a report about 9am on Thursday that a woman was found unresponsive at a suburban home on Mayali Bend.

Police said a man aged in his 40s is assisting them with their inquiries. (ABC News: Pip Waller)

Police and St John ambulance officers attended but the 42-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene.

In a statement, police said a man in his 40s is assisting them with their inquiries.

Death in Paradise star Daniel Ward has warned fans to watch out as DI Mervin Wilson faces serious peril in the beloved BBC detective series. Last week’s episode saw Mervin, played by Don Gilet, take the leap of faith to go to Antigua in a shocking twist. Whilst searching for his brother Solomon, portrayed by Daniel, matters quickly spiral out of control as the episode ends with Mervin presumably kidnapped and strapped to a chair.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the actor revealed that things are only going to get worse for the trusting detective in the highly anticipated episode, which airs on Monday (March 9). NFL world rocked by sudden death of star wide receiver

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Rondale Moore has died by a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound according to police.

According to WHAS11, New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey said Moore’s body was discovered in a garage.

Moore was born in New Albany, Indiana in which he was a three-sport athlete at New Albany High School before transferring to Trinity High School in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was named the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2017.

The receiver was a standout at Purdue in which he had 1,258 receiving yards on 114 receptions along with 12 touchdowns and was named a first-team All-American.

Rondale Moore dies at 25: Death under investigation for Vikings wide receiver, former Purdue star

Rondale Moore, 25, died on Saturday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, said New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey, who told multiple local media outlets that Moore's body was found in a garage. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday, per WLKY-TV. Moore was born and grew up in New Albany, Indiana.

The former star wide receiver at Purdue signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2025 but suffered a season-ending knee injury during the year's first preseason game. Moore spent his first three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, which selected him with the No. 49 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, before moving to the Atlanta Falcons, where he also suffered a preseason knee injury that prevented him from playing in 2024.

Vikings WR Rondale Moore dies at 25

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Rondale Moore died on Saturday in southern Indiana, the team announced. He was 25 years old.

New Albany police chief Todd Bailey told reporters Moore was found in a garage with a gunshot wound suspected to be self-inflicted.

Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm, who coached Moore at Purdue, released a statement fondly remembering his former player.

"Rondale Moore was a complete joy to coach," Brohm said in his statement. "The ultimate competitor that wouldn't back down from any challenge. Rondale had a work ethic unmatched by anyone. A great teammate that would through in any situation. We all loved Rondale, we loved his smile and competitive edge that always wanted to please everyone he came in contact with."

'Infectious brightness': tributes flow for rising footy player Emily French

A "wonderful teammate" who had a "genuine kindness" and "loving personality" is how Wynyard's Emily French is being remembered.

The Wynyard Football Club took to social media to confirm the sudden death of the 16-year-old.

Emily, who was a promising footballer, made her NWFL senior women's debut in 2025.

"Emily began her journey at WFC in our under 14 girls team, where her passion and ability shone brightly," the statement said.

"Over the past three seasons, she progressed through our youth girls pathway, and in round six, 2025, made her senior women's debut at 16 years of age."

Emily finished the 2025 season with three senior women's games under her belt, and was named in the side's best twice.

Tasmania Devils have joined the state’s football and basketball communities in mourning the death of rising star Emily French.

The teenager, already playing senior football for Wynyard, was a member of the AFL National Multicultural Academy and the Devils’ talent pathway program.

From Shyamala to Shobha: Sreenivasan’s quiet feminist voice in patriarchal cinema

For decades, Malayalam cinema revolved largely around male characters. Women were confined to familiar roles: the dutiful wife, the long-suffering mother, the romantic interest whose inner life rarely mattered once the hero’s arc took over, or outrightly objectified. Amidst this deeply patriarchal backdrop, Sreenivasan’s writing blossomed and stood out not through loud political assertions, but through something quieter and more enduring. He gave women space, relevance, and agency without announcing it as ideology.

In ‘Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala’, Shyamala (Sangita) carries the emotional and moral weight of the film while her husband drifts into various forms of escapism, from the enthusiastic entrepreneur to the delusional spiritualist. In ‘Midhunam’, Sulochana, portrayed by Urvashi, demands emotional presence and responsibility from her husband Sethumadhavan (Mohanlal). Her insistence on being seen and heard is unapologetic, and rightfully so.

Ivan Milat's archnemesis – policeman Clive Small, credited with catching the backpacker killer – dies aged 79

Clive Small, the detective credited with catching serial killer Ivan Milat, has died in a Sydney aged care facility after a long illness. He was 79.

Small took command of Task Force Air after the bodies of seven backpackers were found in Belanglo State Forest, south-west of Sydney, between September 1992 and November 1993.

Victorian couple Deborah Everist and James Gibson, disappeared in December 1989, followed by German woman Simone Schmidl, 21, who was last seen in January 1991.

German couple Gabor Neugebauer, 21, and Anja Habschied, 20, went missing in December 1991, followed by British friends Caroline Clarke and Joanne Walters in April 1992.

Task Force Air was formed in October 1993 with more than 20 detectives and analysts to catch the serial killer responsible.
