'The Diary of a CEO' star Steven Bartlett has lost 4 key podcast staffers in recent months

The star business podcaster Steven Bartlett has lost four core employees in the past five months as he grows the show and expands his media empire beyond the UK.

The long-serving employees had helped the show become the No. 1 business podcast on Spotify in the US.

One departing staffer was Jack Sylvester, who calls himself the "cofounder" of Bartlett's "The Diary of a CEO." He helped establish its presence on YouTube, where the show now has more than 18 million subscribers.

A FlightStory spokesperson said the departures were planned over almost a year, with Bartlett's support. She added that the people involved had joined relatively early in their careers and advanced to senior roles before leaving on good terms.

How Steven Bartlett fooled the world

His hit podcast that began with business tips has quietly evolved into a conduit for misinformation and some of the world's most controversial thinking. Yet, he remains insulated from censure

When George Orwell wrote 1984, he devised a language, Newspeak, in which a simplified and restricted version of English was introduced to diminish the intellectual and emotional range of the population. When I read words like “grindset”, “hustle” and “maxxing”, I experience the same cognitive shrinkage. These are terms designed to gloss over the complex interrelations of capitalism, and nobody has come to emblematise this kind of vapid corporate jargon quite like Steven Bartlett, the British host of The Diary of a CEO, which is on the cusp of overtaking Joe Rogan to become the world’s number one podcast.

Biebrza marshes, Poland: It’s not just the abundance of elks, orchids and eagles that sets the mind racing, it’s the wild interactions between the ‘exotic’ and the familiar

Have I made a mistake in visiting Biebrza national park? Not that I mind encountering more bird species in a day than I do in a year at home. Nor do I regret meeting a young elk, all gangle and improbable proportions; or kneeling before a clump of lady’s slipper orchid in jaw-droppingly ostentatious bloom among Solomon’s seal and a carpet of lily of the valley. I definitely appreciate the homely clatter of the neighbourhood white storks, and the constant soundtrack of cuckoos and golden orioles. I certainly have no objection to watching the sunset from a wood-fired hot tub, listening to corncrakes as bats emerge and a beaver cruises past.

Russell in ‘disbelief’ over dramatic Canadian GP retirement

George Russell was left dismayed by his sudden mid-race retirement following a dramatic battle with team mate Kimi Antonelli.

Mercedes’ George Russell was left in “disbelief” following his dramatic retirement from the Canadian Grand Prix, stating he felt like “somebody doesn’t want me to fight for this championship.”

The Briton – who had started the race on pole – engaged in an epic battle for the lead with team mate and eventual winner Kimi Antonelli as the pair fought it out for lap after lap, with victory and precious World Championship points on the line.

However, that battle came to a sudden and unexpected halt on Lap 30 when Russell – by that point running in P1 – suffered a power unit failure that brought his Silver Arrow to a standstill. With Antonelli going on to win the race, the Briton was left dismayed at his luck and was visibly frustrated when exiting the car.
