    Arteta doubles down after rivals' set-piece criticism

    Mikel Arteta has responded to criticism of Arsenal's tactics from rival managers by saying he is "upset" they "haven't scored more" from corners.

    The Gunners' prowess at set-pieces continues to fuel their title charge, with Sunday's victory over Chelsea the ninth time they have scored a match-winning goal from a corner this season.

    But they have also been at the forefront of recent discussions around grappling and blocking at set-pieces, with Everton boss David Moyes identifying Arteta's side as the trailblazers for the use of "dark arts".

    Fabian Hurzeler, whose Brighton said host the Premier League leaders on Wednesday, has called for stricter rules around set-pieces and criticised Arsenal for time-wasting.

    Australian Open doubles semis are set, and there will be a new champ

    The Australian Open doubles draw is down to its final four pairs. With reigning champions Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend out, a new champion is guaranteed.

    MELBOURNE, Australia — Vera Zvonareva and Ena Shibahara defeated Australian favorites Talia Gibson and Kimberly Birrell Wednesday evening, and now the doubles semifinals are set.

    Seventh-seeded pair Aleksandra Krunić and Anna Danilina knocked off the top doubles pair in the world in Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend. With a 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 win, the Slovak-Kazakh pair won 70% of their first-service points to withstand the 2025 Australian Open doubles champions. 

    ANOTHER VICTORY FOR ALEKSANDRA KRUNIĆ: The Serbian player reaches the round of 16 at the Australian Open in doubles!

    Serbian tennis player Aleksandra Krunić and her doubles partner, Kazakhstan’s Anna Danilina, advanced to the round of 16 at the Australian Open after defeating the Australian pair Daria Kasatkina and Arina Rodionova in the second round today in straight sets, 6:3, 6:4.

    The Serbian and Kazakh tennis players broke the Australian duo’s serve six times, while Kasatkina and Rodionova managed three breaks.

    In the round of 16 of the Australian Open, Krunić and Danilina will face the winners of the match between the Slovak-British pair Tereza Mihalíková and Olivia Nicholls and the Australian tandem Storm Hunter and Maya Joint.

    UFC doubles fight night bonuses, adds incentive for every finish

    The UFC is doubling the amounts of its long-running fight night bonus structure, as well as awarding a bonus for every single finish inside the Octagon.

    The new bonus structure will take effect at UFC 324 on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Traditionally, the UFC has awarded four $50,000 bonuses at every event — two to the card's top performers, and one to each of the athletes involved in the "fight of the night." Those fight night bonuses will now be worth $100,000. Additionally, the UFC will hand out a $25,000 bonus to every athlete who records a finish but fails to win one of the $100,000 bonuses.

    Dana White raising UFC performance bonuses to $100,000, adding finish bonus

    UFC fighters now have an increased incentive to go all out to put on exciting performances and look to secure finishes in the Octagon. UFC president and CEO Dana White has announced that, beginning with Saturday's UFC 324 card in Las Vegas, the promotion has restructured post-fight bonuses.

    Outside of special circumstances, the recent bonus structure has included $50,000 bonuses for two fighters who earn Performance of the Night, as well as $50,000 bonuses for the two fighters awarded Fight of the Night.

    UFC doubles post-fight bonuses to $100K in Paramount era, institutes finish bonuses

    In the hours after the ink had dried on UFC's seven-year, $7.7 billion broadcast deal with Paramount, UFC CEO Dana White promised that "bonuses are obviously going up" in the new era. On Saturday, ahead of the promotion's first show on its new broadcast home, fighters finally got a sense of what that'll look like.

    White told the Sports Business Journal that post-fight bonuses are set to double from $50,000 to $100,000, beginning with Saturday's UFC 324 numbered event in Las Vegas. Four of those bonuses will continue to be handed out after every event — two Performance of the Night bonuses and two Fight of the Night bonuses.
