Miles is a dynamic pass-first point guard. She finished seventh in the nation with an average of 6.6 assists, and that aspect of her game could take another leap playing alongside a higher level of talent and creator than she had on the roster at TCU. Her shooting has improved since her breakout seasons at Notre Dame. Her defense needs improvement, but her court vision is good enough to justify teams taking her high, and Minnesota needed a young point guard.

Azzi Fudd is the second daughter of a former draftee to be selected in the draft herself. In 2001, Katie Fudd (then Katie Smrcka-Duffy) was picked No 62 overall by the Sacramento Monarchs. Pamela McGee and Imani McGee-Stafford were the first.

TCU guard Olivia Miles, and Spanish center Awa Fam, also were considered in the running.

Fudd, 23, averaged 17.3 points per game in her final collegiate season, her best scoring season for the Huskies. She won a championship in 2025 with Bueckers as her teammate, but she struggled in the tournament this year. In her last three games at UConn, Fudd averaged only 10.3 points, scoring only eight in a season-ending loss to South Carolina in the Final Four.

The 6-foot-7 center and fellow projected first-round picks Awa Fam (Spain), Azzi Fudd (UConn), Flau'jae Johnson (LSU), Ta'Niya Latson (South Carolina) and Olivia Miles (TCU) are just some of the players who will hear their names called during the 2026 WNBA draft.

The draft will take place at 7 p.m. ET on April 13 at The Shed in New York City.

Ahead of the 2026 NFL draft, it's important to remember that team fit can sometimes be more important than talent. In order for the top prospects like Arvell Reese, Jeremiyah Love and Mansoor Delane to reach their star potential, they need the right scheme to maximize their skill set.

I took it upon myself to come up with the 20 best player-to-team matches for Rounds 1 and 2. I factored in player strengths and weaknesses, organizational needs, schemes and coaching staff tendencies. A lot of the tendencies are speculative, as the 10 head coaching changes from this offseason will lead to plenty of system changes. But the overall idea was to find spots where players would be put in a position to succeed because of their traits and the team's existing infrastructure.

The West Coast Eagles have selected Sam Allen with pick 29 in the 2025 Telstra AFL National Draft

A well-balanced and smooth-moving wingman, Allen brings elite athleticism and versatility to the Eagles’ lineup. Known for his exceptional running capacity, Allen clocked a sub-six-minute 2km time trial and ranked No.1 nationally in the running vertical jump during pre-season testing with an incredible 101cm leap.

Allen started the year strongly with the Oakleigh Chargers, averaging 21.3 disposals (including 9.3 contested) across the first three rounds of the Coates Talent League before a season-ending ACL injury at training. Despite the setback, his talent and professionalism ensured he remained firmly on recruiters’ radars.

Fremantle pulled off a draft shock, landing talented midfielder Adam Sweid despite Essendon having a right to match their bid because he was part of their next generation academy.

The Dockers successfully bid on Sweid with pick No.25 — the last in the first round — at Marvel Stadium on Wednesday night, with the Bombers choosing not to match.

Sweid is an attacking midfielder who averaged 25 touches for the Calder Cannons and was named in the Under-18 All-Australian team after a strong campaign for Vic Metro, including kicking four goals against the Allies.
