Woahhhh Parkway Drive Are Joining Bluesfest 2026

Well this is going to get a few Byron Shire fans excited, but following the distressing cancellation of Park Waves Festival, Byron Bay metal titans Parkway Drive are joining Bluesfest for the very first time ever, marking their first appearance in their home town since 2014.

No strangers to a festival perfromance (duh!) the lads will join the likes of Split Enz, Sublime, The Black Crowes, The Living End, Xavier Rudd, Mental As Anything and, well, it's gonna get pretty heavy when the five-piece hit that stage on the Thursday night as headliners.

On the exciting new (HEAVY) addition, festival organiser Peter Noble shares:

‘Today We Make History’: Bluesfest Adds Three Iconic Acts to 2026 Lineup

Bluesfest has added a trio of iconic acts to its 2026 lineup.

Metalcore titans Parkway Drive, neo-soul icon Erykah Badu, and reggae legends The Wailers will all now play at the festival this year.

“This is a very special announcement for us,” says Festival Director Peter Noble OAM. “Today we make history, welcoming Byron Bay’s most successful band ever to play at Byron Bay Bluesfest.”

It will be Parkway Drive’s first-ever Byron Bay festival performance at the beloved local festival, while Badu will return to Australia for the first time in 14 years.

The Wailers, meanwhile, will host a unique three-night residency at Bluesfest 2026 featuring the completely different live sets across the weekend. Each performance will spotlight a different chapter of the group’s legacy.
