Having been woken by the barking of her pet dog Snowy, a West Albury resident was then shocked to find a stolen police car in the driveway outside her unit.
Rachel Woods was jolted from her sleep around 1am on Sunday July 19 when her terrier began making a noise in response to movement outside their Waratah Crescent home.
She discovered a police car had "come screaming into the driveway".
"I've seen the cop car and thought they've left the cop car, but then the police came and said 'how long it's been sitting there?'," Ms Woods said.

A man will face court after he was found driving a homemade car in the Riverland.
SAPOL said the car was made from the motor of a gopher scooter and the body of a child's ride-on car.
The man will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
