South Africa vs Australia: Temba Bavuma century drags hosts back into series

Captain Temba Bavuma dragged South Africa back into their Test series against Australia with a masterful 179 on day three in Gqeberha.

Bavuma, who emerged in the gloom at 12-2 on day one, batted for 552 minutes across three days in making his highest Test score, allowing the Proteas to declare on 425-9 with half an hour to play having been 110-6 earlier on day three.

Kagiso Rabada nicked off Australia opener Nic Maddinson in the first over of Australia's reply to further boost the hosts' cause.

Bavuma's knock was every bit as impressive as Matthew Renshaw's 190 for Australia in their first Test win – arguably more so given the momentum that had built behind Australia since South Africa's batting struggles and the quality of the tourists' attack.

Major early learning centre at risk of going under

Education provider Edge Early Learning has collapsed into voluntary administration, putting as many as 70 childcare centres across the country at risk of being shut.

In a statement, the group said Craig Shepard, David Johnstone and Stacey Clisby from KordaMentha being appointed as voluntary administrators.

“We understand that this may be a confusing and stressful development for families who rely upon Edge Early Learning to provide care for their children,” Edge Early Learning said in a statement.

It added that there will be no immediate changes to the opening hours or staffing arrangements at the learning centres.

“We are continuing to operate all centres on a business-as-usual basis,” it said.

Edge Early Learning enters voluntary administration but all centres continuing to operate

Childcare provider Edge Early Learning has appointed administrators KordaMentha, which will conduct an "urgent assessment" of the company's operations.

Edge runs dozens of childcare centres across SA, Queensland and the ACT and says centres will continue to operate as normal for the time being.

It says the administration process is expected to take several weeks.

Embattled childcare provider Edge Early Learning, which has centres in the ACT, Queensland and South Australia, has gone into voluntary administration.

In a statement on its website, Edge said it had appointed KordaMentha as administrators on Tuesday but that centres were continuing to operate normally.

Hewitt survives early fright to book battle with Wimbledon semi-finalist

A second-set comeback paved the way for Cruz Hewitt to claim his second-ever ATP main draw win and book his spot in the round of 32 at the Winston-Salem Open.

Hewitt struggled in the first set, but turned things around in a tight second before claiming victory 1-6, 7-6(4), 6-4 over America’s Sebastian Gorzny in North Carolina on Tuesday.

Gorzny, who holds a lowly career-high ranking of world No.782, needed just 27 minutes to dismiss his 17-year-old rival in the first set.

But the 22-year-old could not replicate his dominance in the second as Hewitt showed the grit his father Lleyton was famous for to force a tiebreak, which he won 7-4.

Live: Diamonds face early test, McEvoy hits the water for 50m free final

Welcome to day three of the Commonwealth Games, where there will be a big showdown on the netball court between England and Australia in the group stage.

In the pool, world record holder Cam McEvoy will hit the water for the 50m freestyle final and distance queen Lani Pallister will begin her 1,500m campaign.

The record final score for an AUS-ENG match is 66, and we're quickly approaching that magic number — can the Diamonds do it?!

Australia is having to work hard to find space on the court, with the English Roses proving tough competition.

There are two heats in the women's 100m backstroke S9 event, and two Aussies go in the opener.

Commonwealth Games 2026: Ramsay-Peaty bounces back, England v Australia in netball, and more on day three – live

Australia are having their way with England, so quick in mid-court and leading 62-41. England are doing their best, but they can’t keep up with the movement.

William Emard of Canada makes a decent start in the gymnastics, recording 13.100 on the floor; Adam Tobin of England has to make do with 12.550.

We’ve just started the final quarter in the netball, with Australia now leading 56-36. They really are phenomenally good.

Soon to get going we’ve got the final of the men’s all-around nastics; this should be a lot of fun.

Australia are just so economical in the semi-circle, now leading England 52-34.This could get messy.

Cruel blow as axed NSW State of Origin hero ruled out and return from injury 'unclear'

Angus Crichton’s hopes of earning a State of Origin recall for Game 3 have been ruined by a foot injury, with the Roosters forward’s return reportedly “unclear”. Crichton has been ruled out of the Roosters’ NRL clash with Cronulla on Sunday night after battling a foot issue for weeks.

The Daily Telegraph reported on Sunday that the injury has been “hampering Crichton for quite some time”, and the 30-year-old will “seek advice” this coming week to determine what it could be. Concerningly, the report states it’s “unclear” how long the second-rower will be sidelined.

Crichton won the Wally Lewis Medal the last time NSW won the State of Origin series in 2024, and all up has represented the Blues 17 times. Matty Johns has called for Laurie Daley to turn to experience for the decider at Suncorp, which would put players like Angus and Stephen Crichton, Liam Martin, Latrell Mitchell, Tom Trbojevic and Api Koroisau all in the frame.

007 First Light Early Access: How To Play Before The Release Date

The early access period for 007 First Light isn't quite as early as some titles. In fact, it's just 24 hours. However, early is early, and the way to get started on May 26 rather than May 27 is pretty simple.

A simple digital pre-order of the Deluxe Edition on PS5, Xbox Series X/S or PC will do the trick. Here are the details and everything you'll get if you go the pre-order route.

The path to early access is the same across every digital storefront: pre-order the game and your copy unlocks on May 26 instead of May 27. Thankfully, there's no separate "Ultimate" tier gatekeeping the head start, which is unusual for a modern release.

"If we made a Bond where no one had any opinions on them, it would be the dullest Bond ever made" – 007: First Light studio reacts to suggestion its Bond is too smug

IO Interactive, the Danish game studio known mostly for its Hitman series, has said it expects and even welcomes controversy about the James Bond character it has created for 007: First Light. This Bond – played by Irish actor Patrick Gibson – is a new, younger take, and will chart the character's rise from soldier to 00 agent.

Therefore, the smugness and bravado some people find abrasive: IOI says it's intentional. Bond's lopsided smirk, seen over and again in marketing material for the game, displays the arrogance of youth – Bond's naivety. It's a smile perfectly positioned to be wiped away over the course of the game.
