Emma Stone is ethereal in backless gown on Oscars 2026 red carpet

The two-time Oscar winner hit the Oscars 2026 red carpet at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday, wearing a shimmering, ethereal Louis Vuitton gown with cap sleeves and a plunging, open back.

The “Bugonia” actress, 37, wore her auburn hair sleek and delicately curled close to her chin, adding some sparkle to the look with a stack of matching Repossi diamond earrings and rings.

Stone is no stranger to the Oscars carpet; she accepted her first best actress win in 2017 in a gold beaded Givenchy couture gown and took home her second in 2024 wearing a mint green Louis Vuitton design with a seashell-inspired peplum.

Emma Stone Just Broke Oscar Nominations Records With Her ‘Bugonia’ Nods

Stone was nominated in the best actress and best picture categories, the latter for her producer role on the film.

Emma Stone‘s two 2026 Oscar nominations on Thursday — best picture for producing and best actress for starring in Bugonia — broke a few Oscar records.

The 37-year-old has become the second-youngest person — and the youngest woman — in Oscar history to accumulate seven nominations. Only Walt Disney was younger when he reached that tally in 1936, at just 34. Meryl Streep had held the record for women; she was 38 when she was nominated for the seventh time, back in 1988.

Stone also became the first woman to be nominated twice for producing and acting in a single film. Frances McDormand was the first, for 2021’s Nomadland. Stone followed with dual noms for 2023’s Poor Things. And now she has done it again.

How to Watch Emma Stone’s Oscar-Worthy Performance in ‘Bugonia’

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links."

Could Emma Stone be on the way to winning her third Oscar? The actress has been getting plenty of buzz for her latest film, Bugonia, in which she stars as a powerful CEO (who is believed to be a secret alien). The performance has already earned her nominations for a Golden Globe and Actor Award, and now she’s earned a nod for an Academy Award, too. The film is also nominated for Best Picture, Adapted Screenplay, and Original Score at the Oscars.

Bugonia, which premiered during the 2025 Venice Film Festival and then opened in theaters in October, marks Stone’s fourth collaboration with Yorgos Lanthimos, who previously directed her in Poor Things (which earned Stone her second Oscar), The Favourite, and Kinds of Kindness.

Emma Raducanu is into the second round of the Australian Open but has a tough task ahead if she is to go deep in Melbourne.

‘I’m just trying to focus and turn it around for tomorrow’

Emma Raducanu has criticised the Australian Open’s “very difficult” scheduling but remains focused on her game after being lined up to compete in a late-night slot on the opening day.

Raducanu will play her first-round match against Mananchaya Sawangkaew on Sunday night, leaving the British No 1 with minimal time to adjust to the conditions at Melbourne Park after competing in Hobart. Emma Raducanu voices frustrations at Australian Open scheduling

Emma Raducanu facing late start to Australian Open campaign after first-round match against Mananchaya Sawangkaew of Thailand was scheduled for day one in the second night-session slot on Margaret Court Arena

Emma Raducanu has been left less than impressed by the Australian Open's scheduling after being forced to scramble to get ready for the tournament.

The British No 1 only arrived in Melbourne on Friday after reaching the quarter-finals of the Hobart International but will start her campaign here on Sunday against Thailand's Mananchaya Sawangkaew.

And not only has she been scheduled on the opening day, she has also been given the second night session slot on Margaret Court Arena after a men's match beginning at 7pm local time (8am BST), meaning the possibility of a very late start.
