Heamasi Makasini extends with the Tigers until 2029

The Wests Tigers are excited to confirm that Heamasi Makasini has extended his contract through until the end of the 2029 NRL season.

The Campbelltown City Kangaroos junior is currently signed through until the end of 2027, with this extension keeping Makasini at Concord for a further two seasons.

A product of the Wests Tigers Pathways, the 2024 Harold Matthews Cup Player of the Year has progressed through Harold Matthews, SG Ball Cup, Jersey Flegg, NSW Cup and into the NRL.

The 18-year-old has made a strong start to his career in the top grade, scoring on debut in Round 27, 2025 against the Gold Coast Titans, before some standout performances in the 2026 Witzer Pre-season Challenge.

Wests Tigers have locked up in-demand teen prodigy Heamasi Makasini – the gun outside back who's been likened to All Blacks legend Jonah Lomu – for an extra two years.

Makasini, 18, was already signed with the Tigers until the end of 2027, but the boom centre/winger will now remain with the joint venture until at least the end of 2029.

The Tigers moved early to extend his contract prior to November 1, when he would have otherwise become a free agent and been able to negotiate with rival clubs, including the PNG Chiefs.

Heamasi Makasini makes contract call

For a club that has endured its share of turbulent years, the emergence of homegrown talent through its own pathways has become one of the most encouraging signs of life at Concord.

The latest chapter in that story has a name: Heamasi Makasini.

The Wests Tigers have moved swiftly to lock away one of their most exciting young prospects, confirming the 18-year-old outside back has extended his contract through to the end of the 2029 NRL season, a two-year extension on top of his existing deal, which was set to expire at the end of the 2027 season.

His NRL debut arrived in Round 27 of 2025 against the Gold Coast Titans, and he marked the occasion in the most fitting way possible, crossing for a try on his first appearance in the top grade.

The new dates kick off June 7 in Brisbane, Australia, and wrap up Nov. 27 in Madrid.

“I’m so excited to be bringing the Stars Align Tour to more cities across the world, including my first headline shows in Europe and Australia and more dates cross the U.S and U.K.!” Skye tells Billboard. “I’ve had so much fun on the first leg of the U.S. tour, and getting to sing songs from my new EP stardust has been a dream. I can’t wait to see you all later this year!”

Disney's 'Zombies' star Freya Skye gives joyful solo show

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 14 (UPI) — As a new cast member in Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, Freya Skye joined Disney's Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide tour last year. On her Stars Align tour through March 8, Freya carries the same joyous energy with her solo music.

At her Los Angeles show on Tuesday, there were no Disney backdrops or props, so Freya commanded the stage herself. With room for her drummer David Cola, keyboardist Anna Bettendorf and guitarist Donnie Laudicina, streams of lightbulbs created colorful stage lighting for each song.

Like the Descendants/Zombies tour, Freya's fans scream loud enough to potentially drown out her actual songs. They also knew the words to songs that were only released Feb. 4, and Freya thanked fans for already making costumes and videos inspired by them.

Elena Rybakina took a significant step towards her second grand slam title as she overpowered and outplayed Iga Swiatek in the quarter-finals, advancing 7-5, 6-1 to end the second seed’s hopes of completing a career grand slam this year.
