Shots fired as men with machetes argue at Melbourne shopping centre

Police have converged on a shopping centre in Melbourne's north after shots were fired during an argument between men armed with machetes.
Craigieburn Central was placed into lockdown at around 7:10pm on Thursday.
Police were told two groups of males, both armed with machetes, were seen arguing at the shopping centre and two gunshots were heard.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said the offenders fled as officers arrived.
She said there had been no reports of any injuries or any evidence to suggest anyone was hit by the bullets.

A shopping centre has been placed into lockdown after reports of gunshots being fired and two groups armed with machetes were seen arguing.
Victoria Police said they are currently attending the shopping centre in Craigieburn, in Melbourne’s north, after receiving a call about two shots being fired around 7.10pm on Thursday.
“It’s understood two groups of males were seen arguing at the location but fled upon police arrival,” police said in a statement.
Police said there were no reports of injuries or evidence of a shooting.
The shopping centre was briefly placed into lockdown while police combed the area. Social media images show shoppers locked in stores with the shutters closed while officers probed the incident.
