Firefighters in Western Australia have made an incredible find beneath a burnt out tree after fires tore through parts of the states south west.
Volunteer fire fighters from Rockingham and Wanneroo Bush Fire Brigades were patrolling and mopping up areas around Boddington after destructive bushfires swept through earlier this week.
Coming across a burnt out tree, the fire fighters were shocked to find two young joeys hiding underneath.
“It’s moments like this that quietly stay with you long after the fire is out,” the Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA said.
The volunteers gave the young kangaroos water from a bottle before they were given a quick check over by the crew for any burns.
