Finn Allen forces India to rethink bowling plans ahead of T20 final

India’s bowlers head into Sunday’s T20 World Cup final needing a more precise plan for one batter: finn allen. As of 2: 30 p. m. ET on Saturday, former India batter Aakash Chopra has publicly urged India to lean into spin options and straighter, tighter lines to blunt New Zealand’s opening threat at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The most immediate change Chopra is pushing is tactical: he wants India to use spin early, with Axar Patel singled out as a potential matchup to reduce Finn Allen’s impact at the top. Chopra said Finn Allen has “been troubled a little by off-spin, ” describing a pattern where the batter goes deep in the crease on seeing spin and then relies heavily on wristy shots.

Rohit Sharma fires ‘Finn Allen’ warning to Jasprit Bumrah before T20 World Cup final

Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma is in total awe after having witnessed Finn Allen's innings against South Africa in the first semi-final. He said that at times players have to take their chances and be brave, and Allen has been brave, thus sending a prior warning to the Men in Blue.

India have made its way into the T20 World Cup final, but every Indian fan would agree that India's bowling performance has been comparatively poor. Had it not been for the two special innings from Sanju Samson, India's campaign would have ended long ago.

While New Zealand's strong batting department haunted South Africa, India were disappointed by their bowlers, who managed to help India win the semi-final by just 7 runs after their batters put 254 on the board.
