Forest agree £50m deal for Chelsea striker Delap
Nottingham Forest have agreed a club-record fee worth around £50m to sign Chelsea striker Liam Delap.
The 23-year-old is expected to undergo a medical and sign a long-term contract at the City Ground this week.
Delap's move comes a year after he joined Chelsea from Ipswich Town for £30m amid competition from Manchester United and Everton.
However, Chelsea made him available for sale this summer after he scored just one Premier League goal in a previous campaign disrupted by shoulder and hamstring injuries.
Forest have already signed defender Ousmane Diomande from Sporting for £34m, alongside free agents, Austrian midfielder Xaver Schlager and goalkeeper Steve Benda.

Nottingham Forest close in on signing Liam Delap from Chelsea
Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks with Chelsea over a deal for Liam Delap. Oliver Glasner wants two more signings before the transfer window closes a week on Tuesday.
Delap, who was on Forest’s radar when the striker opted to join Chelsea from Ipswich, is out of favour at Stamford Bridge and has been training away from Xabi Alonso’s first team. The 23-year-old was left out of Chelsea’s squad for their game at Fulham on Monday.
Glasner, who has implemented a three-man defence at Forest, is also keen to strengthen at wing-back. “The club is working very hard to get these deals done,” the Austrian head coach said. “I’m very confident that we will get in two more high-quality players.”
