    BGT golden buzzer 'surreal', says farmers' choir

    A choir made up of farmers from across the UK have said they "exceeded" their own expectations after making it through to the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent.

    The Hawkstone Farmers' Choir was initially founded by Jeremy Clarkson as part of an advertising campaign for his Cotswolds-based brewing firm.

    Since then, the group has remained together and used its platform to help raise awareness around mental health in farming.

    Judge Amanda Holden pressed her golden buzzer following the ensemble's performance on Saturday evening's show – giving them a free pass to the semis of the ITV talent show.

    Responding to the performance, Clarkson – who lives in Oxfordshire – told his followers in a video that it had "made my heart sing" and he "actually welled up" watching it.

    'Singing in BGT choir helps mental health', says farmer

    Ben Brooke said he had never sung in public before his appearance with the choir on national TV

    A fourth-generation farmer said singing in a choir, which has reached ITV's Britain's Got Talent semi-final, gave him "extra support" in his job, which could be "very lonely and isolating".

    Ben Brooke, who farms near March in Cambridgeshire, auditioned to join the Hawkstone Farmers Choir last May, which was formed by TV celebrity Jeremy Clarkson.

    The choir has made it through to the closing stages of the show after judge Amanda Holden gave them a "golden buzzer" at the weekend, external.

    Brooke, from West Bilney, in Norfolk, said the choir, made up of farmers from across the UK, wanted to raise awareness of mental health issues affecting many working in agriculture.

    Amanda Holden surprises TV stars at her local Cotswolds pub

    Amanda Holden has surprised some TV stars with an appearance at her local Cotswolds pub.

    The presenter is known for starring as a judge on Britain's Got Talent as well as hosting other shows, such as Cheat: Unfinished Business.

    A household name across the UK, she lives in a four-bedroom thatched cottage near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire.

    The 55-year-old shares two daughters, 20-year-old Lexi and 14-year-old Hollie, with her husband Chris Hughes.

    Moses Moody has been upgraded to questionable for the Warriors‘ game against the Mavericks on Monday, per ESPN’s Anthony Slater (Twitter link). Moody has been out with a wrist sprain for the last 10 games, and his impending return should help boost the injury-depleted Golden State roster.

    Slater notes (via Twitter) that Kristaps Porzingis has also been upgraded to probable for Monday’s game after missing the last game with a back injury. Porzingis has played just seven times since being acquired by the Warriors, averaging 14.9 points and 3.9 rebounds in 20.3 minutes per game with his new team.

    The Warriors are currently in firm command of the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference, and are 1.5 games out of No. 9.

    Kyrie Irving has maintained a steady presence around the Mavericks despite not playing this season because of his torn left ACL, but his team has missed his offensive production, especially in late-game situations.

    The same can be said for Monday’s game against the Golden State Warriors, a primetime matchup that required overtime to decide a winner.

    Cooper Flagg scored nine of his 32 points in the fourth quarter, but the Mavericks fell short in the additional five minutes and suffered a 137-131 loss, their 12th consecutive defeat at American Airlines Center.

    The Mavericks can’t claim the title of first in most statistical categories, but they’ve competed in 41 clutch games, the most in the NBA.

    The Golden State Warriors’ season is shaping up to be a rollercoaster, and as the NBA calendar barrels toward the trade deadline, the Bay Area squad is dealing with a mix of injuries, trade rumors, and playoff ambitions. With the Warriors currently sitting at 27-22 and holding the eighth spot in the Western Conference, every game and every roster move is under the microscope. Fans are left wondering: will the team’s resilience be enough to keep their postseason hopes alive, or will looming roster changes shake up the chase for a playoff berth?

    Injury woes have hit the Warriors hard in recent weeks. Monday’s matchup against the Miami Heat on February 2, 2026, will see the Warriors without several key players.     There’s a turf war going down at the Grammy Awards that hasn’t necessarily been as pronounced until now. As one anonymous voter — who’s in their second year as a member of the Recording Academy — puts it, it’s fueled by the inevitable evolution of how music is being discovered and consumed, which often takes the form of video crudité. “There are two sides,” the voter explains. “We’re looking at the ‘virality artists’ who are intentionally creating TikTok hits, making songs to go viral, and are very catchy with the algorithm and meant for that type of platform. The 15-second hooks, if you will.” The opposing side upholds a weightier industry standard, at least for this voter. “We have artists creating complex narratives, like Kendrick Lamar and Billie Eilish, who are doubling down on musicianship and legacy,” they say. “That’s the overall theme this year, and I strongly leaned in to the legacy side.”
