Sri Lanka Women Vs Bangladesh Women: T20I Series Kicks Off in Sylhet After ODI Comeback

Sri Lanka completed a late turnaround in the shorter multi-day contest and now head to Sylhet for the opening match of a three-match T20I series: Bangladesh Women and Sri Lanka Women will meet at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on 28 April 2026 at 1:00 PM IST for the first T20I.

Sharmin Akhter Hits 86 as Bangladesh Women Register First-Ever ODI Win Over Sri Lanka

Women’s Sports News, Stats, Gaming, Entertainment, Analysis, Stories and more

Bangladesh Women scripted a historic chapter in their ODI journey, clinching their first-ever win over Sri Lanka women’s national cricket team with a tense three-wicket victory in the opening match of the series in Rajshahi. At the heart of the win was a composed and match-defining innings from Sharmin Akhter, who scored a brilliant 86 off 127 deliveries. Her knock, laced with 13 boundaries, not only guided Bangladesh through a tricky chase of 206 but also marked her highest score against Sri Lanka in ODIs.

Chasing a modest yet competitive target, Bangladesh women’s national cricket team had a shaky start. Early wickets left them struggling at 34 for 3 within the first 10 overs, putting immediate pressure on the middle order. Sharmin, however, steadied the innings with calm authority. Alongside Sobhana Mostary, she stitched together a crucial 87-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Mostary contributed a fluent 41 before being forced off the field due to severe cramps, briefly halting Bangladesh’s momentum.

Aussies Abroad: Green guides Hornets past Bulls

Josh Green has grabbed Aussie bragging rights over Josh Giddey as his Charlotte Hornets pummelled the reshaped and slumping Chicago Bulls.

Green scored 11 points coming off the bench for the Hornets in 131-99 drubbing administered in Chicago on Tuesday night – the hosts' 10th straight loss, matching their longest slide since January 2019.

Bulls starter Giddey managed just eight points on 3-11 shooting, to go with his seven rebounds, two assists and a steal.

After some major roster changes in the recent trade period, the Bulls (24-35) committed 19 turnovers and now sit a lowly 12th in the Eastern Conference.

Brandon Miller scored 23 points, Kon Knueppel added 21 for the Hornets (28-31) as they claimed a team record eighth-straight road win.

Are Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabate playing tonight?

The Charlotte Hornets bounced back from a brief two-game losing streak their last time out against the Washington Wizards, as LaMelo Ball scored 37 points in a franchise record performance.

Entering Tuesday night's game in Chicago against the Bulls, the Hornets will finally have a chance to see their roster at full-strength.

For starters, Coby White has been cleared to make his Hornets debut against his former club after dealing with a calf strain since being acquired for Collin Sexton.

Additionally, the Hornets will get two of their starters back from suspension, after missing the last four games.

Both Moussa Diabate and Miles Bridges were suspended four games for their involvement in an altercation earlier this season against the Detroit Pistons.

Bulls' Matas Buzelis: Logs career highs in loss

Buzelis posted 32 points (13-19 FG, 6-11 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists and one steal across 33 minutes during Tuesday's 131-99 loss to the Hornets.

Buzelis turned in an impressive performance in this one, racking up a game- and career-high 32 points. The second-year forward also knocked down at least six triples for the second time this season and has made at least three three-pointers in four of his last six outings. The 21-year-old also set a career high in field-goal attempts, and while consistency has been somewhat of an issue on the offensive end, he should continue to see plenty of shots falling his way as the Bulls prioritize their youth movement the rest of the campaign.
