Ten Hag signs Wout Weghorst as Marco Silva’s Benfica seek alternatives
Twente have signed 33-year-old striker Wout Weghorst on a two-year contract at the club where Erik ten Hag is technical director, closing off a potential route for Marco Silva’s Benfica and pushing them towards other attacking options.
The Dutch forward left Ajax at the end of his contract after two seasons, during which he scored 20 goals in 65 appearances.

Netherlands World Cup striker Wout Weghorst has left Ajax to join FC Twente, the two clubs announced on Saturday.
