TPG, Hamilton Lane, FactSet, and LendingClub Shares Are Soaring, What You Need To Know

A number of stocks jumped in the afternoon session after major banks and asset managers reported first-quarter earnings that surpassed Wall Street expectations.

Leading the charge, giants like BlackRock, Bank of America, and Morgan Stanley all announced profits that topped analyst forecasts, driven by a significant rebound in investment banking and robust trading activity.

According to reports, Bank of America saw record equities trading, with revenues up 30%, while Morgan Stanley's trading desk saw a 25% rise. This surge was partly due to recent market volatility, which increases trading volumes and generates higher revenues for these firms.

Additionally, a healthier climate for mergers and acquisitions bolstered investment banking divisions, signaling renewed corporate confidence and providing a powerful tailwind for the financial industry to start the year.

Private Equity Takes a Bigger Bite of College Sports

Arctos had a previously unreported stake in Learfield, sources told FOS.

Over the past few years, private-equity firms have been able to land very few investment deals in college athletic departments and conferences directly. But that doesn’t mean private equity isn’t deeply entrenched in college sports already.

From multimedia rights holders to NIL (name, image, and likeness) companies, PE has gained a foothold in many of the third-party companies surrounding college sports.

The latest deal involves Learfield, a longtime college sports-focused company that partners with athletic departments to procure sponsorships, media deals, and now NIL opportunities for athletes. On Tuesday, Learfield announced PE firm TPG was taking a controlling stake in the Texas-based company. The deal is worth about $2 billion, a source confirmed to Front Office Sports.

Hamilton rumour erupts, Ralf says he should move on

The 40-year-old, who has endured the worst campaign of his long career, answered in November when asked if he will quit: No, no, no.

But the speculation has flared again, with former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher bluntly declaring in Abu Dhabi that Ferrari should consider ending the partnership now.

From my point of view, they should bring in Oliver Bearman, he said.

He's delivering superb performances at Haas and will also be the future for Ferrari. Bearman and Leclerc would be a great team for 2026.

Schumacher said Hamilton is still capable of speed when the car is right, but argued that age is the defining factor.

Nico Rosberg shares Lewis Hamilton legacy concern amid Ferrari woes

Nico Rosberg gives his take on Lewis Hamilton's ongoing struggles at Ferrari.

Nico Rosberg fears Lewis Hamilton is suffering a “nightmare” end to his F1 career with Ferrari.

Seven-time world champion Hamilton crashed at high-speed halfway through final practice at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix when he lost control of his Ferrari at the long left-hander of Turn 9.

Hamilton spun off and crashed into the barriers, breaking his front wing and front suspension. He reported over team radio that “something buckled at the front and snapped the rear”.

Hamilton’s former Mercedes teammate and F1 title rival Rosberg shared his verdict on the 40-year-old Briton’s ongoing struggles.

Herbert: It’s the end of Hamilton, Ferrari hasn’t rebooted him

Herbert said the signs are written all over the Ferrari driver’s demeanour and performances: “Hamilton is lost and I don’t see a bounce back from him. Lewis is deflated and he’s very confused with what’s happened this year because he hasn’t been able to drive around the problem which he was able to do in his younger years in F1.”

For Herbert, this is the classic tipping point that arrives even for the greatest: “Even the best drivers get to a point where they have a peak and then they pass that peak and then they either stay at that level and everybody else gets better or they begin to wane.

2025 Abu Dhabi GP FP1: Lindblad and Iwasa join seven other rookies in first practice

After 23 Grands Prix in 2025, the title fight goes down to the wire in Abu Dhabi

Lewis Hamilton has been reflecting back on his maiden season as a Ferrari driver – and the changes that might be needed ahead of 2026.

Lewis Hamilton has suggested that he and Ferrari may need to look at making changes to personnel ahead of 2026, with the seven-time World Champion admitting that they will examine factors that could help to “optimise our teamwork” after a challenging 2025.

Following his headline switch from Mercedes to the Scuderia, Hamilton has faced some ups and downs during his maiden campaign with the Italian outfit. While there were positive moments – including his Sprint victory in China – there have also been trickier times, and Hamilton is yet to stand on a Grand Prix podium since joining the team.

Lewis Hamilton's first season at Ferrari summed up in a single image

This week marked nine years since Nico Rosberg suddenly announced his retirement from F1, so drained from the task of beating Lewis Hamilton that he could no longer go on.

Rosberg’s retirement gave birth to a fun new game at the end of each season when everyone tries to predict which driver could walk away without warning. At the end of a miserable first season with Ferrari, Hamilton himself is the perfect candidate in 2025…
